get a tune as soon as u can. i wouldnt even be driving the car right now to be honest

Jordo! 05-28-2014 04:00 PM

You need an uprev protuner or another software (ECUtek?) that can adjust VVEL and almost definitely fuel and spark too. I would NOT drive it too much until then.

EDIT: Fixed your link --> Link : 370z exhuast jun camshaft 282 issue !! Are this problem ?? - YouTube

brucelidat 05-28-2014 04:20 PM

yes, go get a tune then tell us all how it went. did you install any other supporting mods with the cams?

Flash the car with the OEM Uprev Patched Rom. It can be downloaded through the Rom Editor.
This will Fix 80 to 90% of the issues. Since your Z had 600cc injectors an you put back in the OEM ones, this through off the fuel multiplier and scaling.
Doing this will pretty much put it back to Stock other then the the Patched ROM.
This should enable you to drive the car to get it all sorted out with the new cams.

Well then.. The Shop will know what to do then. Cannot wait to see how the Cams work out for you..

Dieselg37s 05-29-2014 10:43 AM

Where did you get the cams from? I would like to get a set

Navyboy916 05-29-2014 12:49 PM

Did you get the buckets replace with a different size due to the increase in duration of the cams? This has to be done so the valve doesn't hit the piston. I have the JUN cams and have no problems. These are not just drop in cams. You don't have to get a retune right away because JUN made these cams to run on the stock program so that's not your problem. You really need to make sue the intake side is still in factory spec with the VVEL actuators. Go to the dealership there and tell them you need the VVEL actuators reset to factory cause there is a long procedure they have to do in order to reset it. I was there for my entire build so if any other questions please ask

6MT-Z34 05-29-2014 12:54 PM

I'm new to this and don't know much about how they work but doesn't jun sell two types of cams for the Z?

WERT? You mean checking the clearance between the cam and the follower and changing to a different thickness lifter to adjust any that are out right? and this is due to the base circle being cut down on the reground cams. Man if you had it done at the stealer I would hate to know what you paid, the vvel reset is easy enough and can be done without consult 3 the stealer probably charged like 150-200 for just that.

Elmo370z 05-30-2014 09:51 AM

How long was the install? When do you think you will get the car tuned?

Take me 2 day

And i will be tuned after vvel actuators rest

1slow370 05-30-2014 11:27 AM

when you did the cam instal did you check the clearance between the cams and the lifters?

Do you have the factory service manual?

elia_ebyss 05-30-2014 11:53 AM

Ctd-germany have a dyno graph for jun camshaft with mods : K1 rods , NST pully , AT flax plate , ss304 wrapped headers , 300 cpi sport catalyst convertor , Akrapovic cbe and stillen gen III

https://scontent-a-cdg.xx.fbcdn.net/...63487756_o.jpg

1slow370 05-30-2014 01:25 PM

just to translate the above with correct conversions it is 389HP at 7450rpm and 292lb/ft at 5250rpm

In the page of the dyno graph say if they raise rpm to 8000 then the horse reach 400whp , also the tq is great number for NA cars

The stillen sc have 370whp on dyno and this na have 389whp without raising the rpm

I agree with na of course

1slow370 05-30-2014 02:02 PM

stillen supercharger with garbage tune = 370whp

and they are good numbers im just saying the conversion in big red letters is wrong.

brucelidat 05-30-2014 03:24 PM

wow, those numbers are great if they're real. How much should one expect to pay to have cams pistons, and rods installed?

I am skeptical of those numbers though. What gas is he running, e85?

Agreed

Chuck33079 05-30-2014 03:32 PM

How come the HP and torque lines cross at 7100 rpm? Am I reading that wrong? Shouldn't they cross at 5252?

SS_Firehawk 05-30-2014 04:00 PM

Torque reading is in nm, not lb ft.
They are running 12.3:1 too... They have to be running e85.

1slow370 05-30-2014 04:15 PM

The units are different if you ploted them in lb feet and hp they would cross at 5252 but since it is nm and ps they dont

Chuck33079 05-30-2014 04:18 PM

:tiphat:

Hard to read that on a phone.

brucelidat 05-30-2014 04:23 PM

So if that's 389whp with e85, we would expect what, 350whp on 91 pump?

1slow370 05-30-2014 04:25 PM

Being that it is in germany and they dont have e85 u guys are barking up the wrong tree. Its most likely higher octane euro gas

Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk

Chuck33079 05-30-2014 04:25 PM

You might not be able to run that compression on 91 at all.

brucelidat 05-30-2014 04:30 PM

Someone needs to rock this build here stateside on 91 and let us all know how it goes, haha.

Take it back the have some e85 a lot of e10, but almost every gas station has 100 octane gasoline

Sent from my HTCONE using Tapatalk

Navyboy916 05-30-2014 05:33 PM

You can run up to 12:5:1 on pumped gas that's the compression of the fr-s and brz boxer motor. You don't have to run e85 or even 100 octane. Did you retune the car and reset the vvel? What code was your check engine light throwing? Ask the tuner to tell you on the uprev program. When I started my car for the first time after the can install it didn't sound good and come to fine out the actuators need to be reset back to factory. The dealership has the program to reset the actuators. Go to the dealership that's your safest bet. Again I have no problems with my setup and went through the dealership
