Yes you can run stock compression, I'm pretty sure some stated the cams were intended to be used in a 100% stock motor, and you will see 15-20 horsepower from just that mod alone. But I think you have to reset the vvel.

Edit: just so you know you need to do this any time you change cams, even if you put in another oe cam, it is best to do it whenever the head or block is decked as well in case the head gets distorted, basically any time you pull the head you should check it, it only takes 30 minutes.

Anyone know if the gains from the cams would be mostly high RPM peak or overall?

with more lift you will get an overall gain, with the duration increase it will shift the powerband up so i would expect it to move the power band up 500-1500rpm with small gains everywhere else. it is only exhaust and the timing comes in to play but I ould be surprised if it did something other than that. Also just to remind those who don't know it's all about restrictions so if through a bigger cam on a car with other restrictions you won't see the full benefit, as in if the cam flows 350hp but the exhaust only flows 300 you won't see it. same thing if the intake is choked.

Well if you guys want info you might want to look at cams on the 350z and what the gains the 350z had. Granted those have exhaust cams and intake but still. 3k price for 15-20 gain isn't bad. I would do this if I weren't saving for a GT-R so it would be pointless for me to do this cam install. If you have the cash stop waiting for other people to do something you obviously wanna do. What would be a regret? If you have a full bolt on Z then you'll obviously see gains. It's not rocket science. Like I said people spend this money on a simple exhaust with out complaining for what 5 to 10 hp? If I were keeping the z I'd take my car to Switzer performance in Ohio that are known for the GT-R work and get this done. Vendor Garageline have a set for sale for 700 shipped so you don't have to wait to get shipped in from japan. A lot of interested people about these cams now someone get some balls like OP. Don't bitch at OP for not having more info. He did what a lot of us want to do and said they work.

Lots of lost money, time, possibly performance, and a possible blown motor?

Not trying to hijack the thread but what are your thoughts on the JUN auto throttle bodies? I believe they are enlarged 2mm for optimal performance and reliability...??

no one is bitching at the op for not having more info, we're glad he has the info that he does. There's just not enough info in general for many to go for it ta this point.

Oh Ethan that sounds like more of the worries of a turbo build to me. It's a cam install it's not hard but it's not easy either. It is what it is. If you only make 10 hp. Still see no reason to regret it. Lost money? I mean more money can be made it's replaceable if you have a career. If your worried about wasting money you shouldn't be modding a 370z period anyways. Don't get me wrong I understand where you are coming from buddy let's watch the nba finals tom

I did spend a lot of money for my install but I don't regret installing the cams at all even though I need more tuning time. I love the build. I know it's not a lot of power that most people expect but it's still a great addition to my car and it's very reliable. GTM built my heads and installed there durable parts.

Your build is great, it's just got so much in it that we can't figure out what is attributed to what in terms of improvements.
