I doubt it makes 400 WHP. More like 375 to 385hp at the wheel. If you want to hit 400hp and over you will need to build a stroker motor. Not cheap at all.

You'll be going deep into the motor.

Its finally happening. I'm going to take my shot at it! Head on over to my IG @austinhertel if you want to see the glorious JWT parts!

Build Plan:

JWT IMSA spec 12.5:1 Forged High Compression Pistons (96mm oversized)
JWT Custom C2 cams with custom base circle (to clear bigger valves)
VK56 OEM Exhaust Valves (+1mm larger +sodium filled)
Suckerpunch Motorsports Billet Oil Pump/Gears
Deatschwerks 600cc Injectors (e85 fuel)
Intake Manifold Porting
Headers (looking for a used set)
PC9 Coating on Pistons
Hitting up Charles for one of those beautiful billet baffled oil pans as well
Dynosty Built and Tuned!

Goals: 380-400whp / 300-320wtq / 8000-8300rpms

What do you guys think? Can we hit those goals!?

I think so. Supposedly there's an unopened motor car(cammed, but stock internals/displacement/compression) that made 388whp/305wtq. I'm seeing some pretty sketchy stuff come out of the shop in the way of engine builds, so it makes me question the legitimacy of everything else as well, buuuuut...long story short, I believe you'll crack 400 NA w/ the extra RPM and compression. Good luck on this.

Love that my old thread has sparked what I have up on. Definitely sub’d about constantly banging 8,300 with touching the intake side of things. 400 will need more compression and serious motor work. Adding a dry sump and ported heads would probably touch that mark.

So everyone who laughed at me many years ago when I started the thread, well here it is. No it isn’t my car but my theory was proven right, 400whp is possible on a NA VHr

Definitely. I just did all that with smaller cams in stock heads and dry sump in a factory short block.
