I didn't try driving my car with the sensor unplugged. Idle would jump to 1k RPM and throw a code. I'm still dealing with this issue, which I think might be a vacuum leak somewhere. It happens when the car is "hot" after driving for awhile. It goes away after restarting.
I got mine from Z1, but I'm sure you can find one from the junkyard somewhere. It's about 1/3 the cost of a new one. I've been reading about symptoms of a failed MAP sensor, and most of my issues were similar: hesitation, lost power, etc. It's something I've dealt with even while bone stock. I can tell you even with my oil temps around the 200F range throttle response is still great.

So far still feels great. It makes sense why some deal with this issue and some don't. I remember when I could peel out in 1st, and later starting in 1st felt like 2nd. Slow to ramp up. Now it's kinda scary... need new tires lol

I was hoping Digitonium findings would solve my hesitation issue below 3k RPM so i went and change to a new MAP sensor today, nothing change in term of response, it still hesitate. Went and reset and clear all self learn values via OBD2, sadly still the same. Next to attack pre cat O2 sensor and crank position sensor. I hate when i cant dart out from traffic due to this. Even civic and camry faster.

I always chalked this up to the emissions system. My car was like that from the day I got it, it's what I expected stock. Since I went catless it's fantastic, a friend of mine even noticed from the passenger seat via butt dyno.
I may be wrong but, I blame the EPA. |

I somehow thinks that my narrowband (post CAT) O2 is off. Have anyone tried running with the post CAT O2 off and disabling code via Uprev/Ecutek yet ? This will be my next attempt, unplug the harness for narrowband at CAT and give it a whack at temp >90 deg C, if it doesnt bog then we know open loop rocks. Anybody tried this yet ?
On second note - have anybody check their fuel dampener, that could cause bogs as well. Zen |
