Thanks for the recommendation, but that's not something I am looking to do right now. This was a $300 upgrade (with bushings and fluid) over the Open Diff. I am much happier with the VLSD over the Base Diff.

Here is an update on the OS Giken. Yes, it can get clunky on ya with warm RE11's and tight turns. I am running Motul 75w140 fluid. I may try the OS Giken fluid later if it get's on my nerves.

Mine only makes noise when I'm driving normal, slow sharp corners, never when I'm pushing it.

OS Giken or Quaife for DD Automatic TT 370Z, which one is better for this scenario?

I have the Quaife in my base/touring,,,as i'm thinking it was about my only option with the factory 3.357 gearing.
I was told that if you lift a rear wheel (teeter it) while tuning up/down pretty sharp incline/decline...that the lifted wheel would only pull. As a Wavetrac unit won't do this.
Quaife is helical & no maintenance/while OS Giken is conventional clutch type & probably require a bit more frequent oil changes.
Gotta see what's available for your's.
My Quaife will draw even black lines as desired & make's 0 noise.....but i'm sure an OS Giken can be shimmed up tighter & potentially chirp a tire on very sharp turn's,,,as it's a more True posi unit.

Mine had the open in it,,,as they can be very dangerous after adding additional power & disconnecting all traction control.
One wheel can get spinning way faster than other & then when things grab-You can make an un-expected lane change....not good.
That thing was replaced rather quickly afterwards w/Quaife helical,,,as this was my best option at the time.
Looking to pick up another pumpkin & have a second w/lower gearing & possibly a Wavetrac unit...but no problem's with the Quaife thus far.

I'd think with TT you'd want the OSG. They change it to a 2 way and adjust the split torque. Pop them an email, they're very responsive and will help you get the best setup.

CZP and Z1 have both stated Quaife is the best for me. RevZone here in Australia reccommended Cusco RS 1.5 over the Quaife because the Cusco is a full mechanical where as the Quaife is a helical. Not sure if they are just trying to sell me the product because they have them readily available.

I may go with OS Giken because I can get it much cheaper here locally including the Output flanges.

Cusco is a damn good rear diff as well...Quaife has built rear diffs for F1 cars so you can't go wrong with any of them.

Anyone have the Kaaz Super Q? The clutch plates are WPC treated so it is supposed to be super smooth and super quiet

Hmm such a hard choice here, lol.

Cusco RS 1.5, Quaife or OSG!?
Guess ill just get whichever I can get cheapest, they all seem to be pretty highly rated.

I was reading this thread and did some further research. Of the three:
OSGI (Shipping & Returns)
Cusco (HOME - Cusco LSD)
Quaife (Quaife Limited Slip Differential)

Only the Quaife offers any warranty at all. (limited lifetime)

Still your call, but something to consider.

Hmm yeah that is something that makes it stand out from the crowd. But which one puts power to the ground the best for TT, and also is comfortable to drive daily?

I would go with whatever is cheapest and easiest to get serviced in your area. They all make a big improvement in mechanical grip. They real deal as mentioned in the thread about on braking is the tires or tyres you choose to run.

Reason OS Giken is so bad *** is because it has MORE CLUTCH PLATES than Cusco so it runs smoother and lasts longer. Reason I like Kaaz super q is because it is like a Cusco but the plates are WPC COATED and have very low friction surface so it is QUIET and also lasts longer. It is also about $400 less than the OS Giken. Quaife will suck on ice or if the car gets airborne because it is dependent on ONE wheel slipping so it won't be good for drifting only road racing.
