Horrendous reversing screech!

Actually beyond a screech - whenever I reverse in my 370z there's an horrendous screeching noise like a rusty tractor. I've read this is fairly common ?!!! but in a 40k car ?! (Mine is 2010 with only 20k on it)

Can I fix this myself or does this have to get booked in - its so embarrassing that I've avoided parking anywhere I'm going to have to reverse out of!

I love driving this car but the poor build quality is starting to make me think I should be back in an M3 !

Any help appreciated

Only in reverse? Maybe either a bad reverse gear or something failed in the dif.

MT or AT?

Anyway, either way, it should be covered under the drivetrain warranty so long as you are under 50K.

Yes definately only in reverse and worse if on any kind of gradient - automatic.

"Horrendous screeching noise" is fairly common? Where did you read that? I've never heard of such a thing.

Your car is broken. Yes. The M3 would have been better. I've read that they never break.

I've gotten it a few times too. Mostly when you hit the gas pretty quick and hard
when going in reverse. I stopped doing that and i havn't heard it.

If it only screeches when you are moving, I suspect something rubbing against the drive shaft or axles. If it screeches when you are sitting still, I'm stumped.

Yeah its normal i know weird, but i had it happen alot after the car stood for a few weeks and then u back out eeeeeeeeeeeek, wtf was that? It goes away when u reverse more often.

Sometimes I get a pretty loud screech when I brake in reverse. It usually goes away after two or three brake presses.
