:confused:Hey guys, I just bought a new Z and I want to put a corrosion control module ( don't even know if it's effective ) that I had on my Veloster ( rest in peace ) so I have to disconnect the neg. post to install it, what should I be concern with, anything needs to be reset, your expertise on that please, thanks !

However you will want to roll the windows down slightly. Without the battery they will not lower on their own and you can do some damage if you open and close the door. Depending on how long the post is off you might have to relearn the window switches but it's easy.

Hold the brake pedal down after you disconnect the battery to discharge the system.

What will happen after I disconnect the battery neg. post. What do i have to do. I posted to the wrong forum and got different answers, I'm confused, should there be one process, thanks:confused:

After you disconnect the negative cable from the battery, nothing electrical in the vehicle will function.

The primary one is the window reset procedure. I don't know it so don't ask - just search.

Others include radio presets and the clock.

I found his earlier post, and he is trying to install a corrosion control module (or something like that I think).

Like Chuck mentioned, you should hold the brake pedal after disconnecting the negative battery terminal to completely drain the charge in the electrical system. Also mentioned, if you plan on opening/closing the doors during the work, you should lower the windows slightly before disconnecting the cable.

When you go back to reinstall the battery cable, you will need to do a window reset procedure (I recommend you search the forum for directions - I don't know them).

The window reset process is:

1. Roll down window all the way.

2. Roll up window all the way, but hold the switch in the "up" position and continue to hold it for 5 seconds after the window is all the way up.

3. Repeat process for the other window.

4. Deliver Reps to Mr. onzedge™ and Mr. JARBlue™.

5. Have a great day.

Make sure you pop the trunk first if you need to! Can't tell you how many times I have forgotten and had to reconnect!

I'm in the middle of putting in a sound system and the only thing I've notice that I have to do is reset the power windows, everything else seemed to be ok...

"Corrosion Control Module". I can't fit one of those on my engine because my Fuel Ionizing Hydrogen Generator is in the way. I'm reluctant to disconnect it because I'm sure that any day now it will kick in and I'll start getting the 73 MPG that the advertisments gauranteed.
