This problem IMO is one of 2 things:
1. Seeing as Selena Gomez is on top of the page and it's the 1st of April, you're pulling our leg and your car is actually fine. I hope this is the case. or 2. Clutch/Flywheel defect. You lost a balancing weight, a piece of the clutch disc broke off or one of the pressure plate fingers is damaged (unlikely). All of these wouldn't show visual signs threw the peep hole in the trans, probably not much more noise and possibly wouldn't affect the Crank Sensor as it would only offset the weight on one side affecting the centrifugal force and not the rotational speed of the engine. Add the extra stiff mounts and you get a pleasant shutter in the car that is worst at certain RPMs (frequencies). I would pull the transmission, specially if you have access to a lift and a transmission jack. |

Trans pull is the current avenue, its on a lift at work, today was my day off, I have a southbend clutch/flywheel setup so I am not sure how the flywheel is weighted, I work through the rest of the week but I will try to work on it an hour or 2 in the afternoon, after the turbo parts are out of the way I can drop the trans pretty fast, I really hope thats it so I can get something in and make my tune date.

Maybe give Joe at Zspeed a call and quiz him on the flywheels and if he thinks it even possible for something like that to happen. It might be possible I guess if there is some sort of balancing weights on the flywheel. I cant remember mine when I installed it, I didnt play that close of attention to it.

As weird as it sounds to say, I'm really happy for you. That's a much cheaper and easier fix than something internal to the motor. It had to have been a manufacturing defect, right? 1k miles of boost on the canned tune shouldn't kill a clutch.

I just read every post of this thread and it made me super anxious to find out what it was and the whole time I was thinking maybe he should drop the trans and check out all the rotating components... glad it wasn't knocking or something worse!!! thought you were seriously pulling an april fools joke on us
