I second this my Fuel pump went bad and was able to get itt warrantied since I was 800 miles shy from Warranty being voided....Parts do fail or just Give out but that's part of maintence ya know? I know because i work at an auto parts store and i get every once in a while people that need to replace parts that are under warranty. Yea it sucks no doubt about it, I was left stranded due to my pump -.- but as long as you got warranty replace it or buy an aftermarket one, your choice.

There is a warranty on the car because there are parts that WILL fail, it is humanly impossible to manufacturer anything and not have a failure rate! My grandfather rebuilt transmissions, carbs, engines, starters, valve jobs etc etc EVERYDAY as a technician in the 50's and 60's, and in just those short years we have evolved into a great era of tech and manufacturing, not to mention entitlement, our society is becoming unreasonable at an alarming rate, this isn't a personal attack, just a vent that was trigger by you, but jeez, come on.
No he should have better expectations and he is not being unreasonable. I bet that if this happened to you you would be saying the same thing.
I would be throwing a wall eyed fit if it happened to my Z.

Thats how you get things fixed for free at dealerships

Joepro - I appreciate your continuing honesty. It's a valuable insight into why some service advisors are unsympathetic, bigheaded arseholes.

In this case the OP had an issue with his vehicle and it was repaired under warranty. No one has any idea why the failure occurred, but they are quick to push the blame on the company. The OP said he had a lot of problem free miles in 2 other vehicles from the same company and now all of a sudden we have a deal breaker in everyone's opinion? He got good Customer Service if you ask me. Fixed for free........

I really feel that most of the responses in this thread have been off-topic AND way off the meter, but whatever!

Ya most everyone missed my point, it has nothing to do with service or dealers, but the fact people want to write off and condemn a product or manufacturer because something broke, big deal, it happens. This happens all the time, Galaxy phones are crap, Iphones are crap, this brand is crap, some of them may in fact be crap, but most are not, if you knew the amount of stuff most car companies gave away(the good ones anyway), you would be astounded, however, the joke is on the customer, how do you think the manufacturer pays for all the parts and service they give away, oh, what, msrp prices when up another 1k, bingo.

In this case your enemy can be your best friend, I can tell each and everyone of you how to deal with service advisors, I am one, and btw, darn good at it I might add, the most difficult part of this job is the people, which I have taken extensive psychology classes(some required by my manufacturer other during my masters studies) to deal with the different personality types, you really want help from a service advisor, who better not to ask that a service advisor? We are people, and people need a place to vent the OP did just the trick, I felt great at work today! Even offered to call the manufactuer for a customer that thinks they have rust between their clear coat and paint on the trunk of their car, see I am a nice guy.

It's very hard/rare to find service advisors that are willing to help...most are lowlife angry people that are in a transition phase that don't give a crap about their jobs...if you can't handle the pressure or you are not a people person then do this damn job, jeez, it really gets my blood boiling

You know there are good and bad service managers out there with any business of any size. Stuff does happen...I bought a brand new Power Stroke in 95 when they first came out and later found out that the tranny would fail near 70K and it did. I went to my local dealer and because it out of warranty he did it for the cost of parts. My injectors on my current GMC went out at 90K and I took into the GM dealer and they said not a problem. They fix it and said you got another 100K warranty on those bad boys because of the problem. I didn't have another problem with the Ford or the GMC which I still own now and it is going turn 200k here soon. Just pure and simple statistics there is going to be a failure rate of x and exceeds standard of y. But when it is all said and done, I just want them to own what is theirs to own and take care of it without making me angry!
