Awesome time shooting the sh!t with you today. The work you and Johnny have done on your ride is most impressive. I can't wait until it's actually on the street again. Anytime you need another set of hands to assist with your build give me a holla brotha and I'll be there.

Most definitely will be sending pictures. You are most welcome to come by when we are ****!ng with the track car. I always welcome another gearhead to make sure that what we're doing is not an alcohol related bonehead move.

I'm going to come by next Saturday to discuss some build stuff with Johnny so I'll probably see you there.

That would be great. I have so much more confidence that Johnny will figure it out before the dealer does. :rofl2:

The stealership keeps thinking its a crusie control issue. I continue to tell them that the cruise control indicator coming on is just a symptom of something else being wrong but they don't listen. Maybe it's time to transfer my service from West Houston to Southwest.

Worse case I'll bring it over after hours and we can mess with it until we figure it out and while we're at it get your beast back on the road.

Anyone needing a built motor for the VQ platform please call JTran Motosports out of Houston and like their FB page to see progress and updates on their work. 2 more VQ35HR's completed this week with 3 vQ37VHR built motors under their belt. Ask for Amber and she will get you a quote.

@O&G, it seems like you had your build done in a timely manner. Less than 6 months altogether? So you dropped off your car to have them drop the motor to rebuild and reassemble the entire kit? $3k worth of upgraded parts makes sense other than the labor. I'm thinking about coating and/or getting some parts shot peened. [shrugs]

If I ever decide to embark on this project, I'd probably keep the same GTM kit, but make some upgrades and refresh some components as well (turbo CHRAs, lines, etc.).

Overall, nice build and congrats!

Thank you sir. Only reason mine took so long as I did most the work myself and messed up a few things. I incorrectly installed the cam caps on the passenger side bank so the VVEL assembly didn't rotate correctly. I thought it was an electrical issue, so I replace the VVEL solinoide and problem solved for days. Gave up, came back to it. JTran figured out the problem, installed the cam caps in the right order and boom, started up like a champ. If you were to pay to have this done it would be done a lot faster as I wouldn't be doing the work LOL.

Live and learn, and I now know everything there is to know about VVEL and the VQ37VHR lol.
