That's not one to overthink. Look at the spec in the manual, buy something that's not the auto parts store's house brand.

The FSM isn't much help here. It just says "Genuine NISSAN PSF or equivalent" :ugh2:

A full flush is 1-1/8 quart btw.

I have some of the Redline fluid for our power steering system at home. I believe it is the D4 ATF fluid (it's automatic transmission fluid). I did not use their Power Steering Fluid.

That does work for the PS, I used it for awhile until I blew a PS line and just add the shop use the OEM Nissan stuff because they gave it to me for free.

It doesn't give a spec for the ATF to use?

I was speaking to the power steering fluid - I use the Red Line D4 ATF.

For the automatic transmission, it just says "Genuine NISSAN Matic S ATF"

I bought some in anticipation of installing a $hittymoto power steering reservoir nearly two years ago. I never installed the PS reservoir but I did do the PS flush. I've been running it for about 20K miles now.

I was also referring to the power steering fluid. Nissan requires ATF for that, not PS fluid, correct?

They have a specific Nissan branded power steering fluid.

Like I said, the FSM says "Genuine NISSAN PSF or equivalent". Although, the footnote does say "DEXRON VI type ATF may also be used"

Looks like i stirred up the pot here! haha

only reason i made that comment was my last car (IS300 manual) went through three transmissions. i trust the engineers at nissan and figured id be all kosher and use their stuff just in case.

redline is a great product! i used it as engine oil for 20k miles.

(side note: when i bought dif fluid from nissan they just gave me some full sythn Valvoline...)
