The 4.08's help with the 1/4 mile time but it takes some adjustments to really get the most out of it. Launching was slightly different and took a few passes to find the right sweet spot again. Also the faster rev'ing of the engine requires some adjusting for gear changes. I found myself shifting too soon the first several passes and netting a lower trap speed than with stock gears. Sticky tires are a must, especially with the upgraded gears.

I can't really say exactly how much ET and trap speed was attributed to the gears because of the different mods I've done. But I'll say this much:

stock (on a really good night): 13.1 @ 105 mph w/ 1.89 60ft
4.08's + a few bolt-on's (on a warm night) = 12.8 @ 109 mph w/ 1.92 60ft

With that said, I like the 4.08's more for street driving than for 1/4 mile racing. The really wake up the car, makes it way more fun to run through the gears.

Thanks for the info bro:tup: that's really good stock times. Now I can see how much of a difference our track conditions affect out times here. What's the Density Altitude at the track? Best 60ft. I have able to put down is 1.7ft but with DRs. Really appreciate the feedback.

When I ran the 13.1 the DA was about -400 (doesn't get much cooler than that down here in south Florida). And when I ran the 12.8 the DA was about 1000ft. During the summer time it can get up to 3000ft but I never like to unless it's below 2000.

I never did get a chance to run the car with all the mods on a really cool night. Maybe one of these winters I'll get back there...

The best 60ft I've ever got was 1.85 w/ street tires, never had the pleasure of running DR's or any special track tire.

Wow really good conditions there. Our track condition, location, and elevation works against us.:shakes head:
