Automatic tranmission,is it adjustable.??

Hi friends,i need to ask,is our Autobox adjustable.?I got a strange feeling after the autobox fluid changed...the tranmission seems like 'slips' more than before the oil change...the feeling is like smoother gear change...but i would like a little more rough..like a little 'jerk'...like when the car is new...the service centre claimed it is "Non adjustable"...just want to know a 2nd option, thanks folks..

I don't understand... You're contradicting yourself a bit...

You can't adjust it to shift wrong... You can adjust the line pressure which will bang it into gear better with an UpRev tune

Adjusting line pressure, is that it fools the AT, expecting more power thus shifts harder.
Thats a good thing.

The downside, is that the transmission now needs more throttle input to downshift.
Resulting in a downshift lag.

For downshift,i can use the paddle shift..

You know, I thought I was imagining that, but I have noticed it too -- not an issue in M-mode -- only in regular auto driving, although it seems to have a "trim" that adjusts its shift schedule in auto to correspond more closely to the manual shifting, so its rare that it results in a noticeable lag, at least for me.

I think it's a one way adjustment... no way to tweak the tables to rectify is there? :-/

Are you sure the level is correct? From what I understand, even being a little low can cause weirdly laggy operation.

Nope you have to have a tool to check it...:shakes head:

the only tool you need to check it is a wrench for the overflow plug? oh and a thermometer to make sure the fluid is between 95-115 deg F when you check it. the procedure is slightly over fill it, warm it up to the above temp(i'd check it with an IR thermometer on the pan), work it through all the shift positions, park it on level ground, pull the overflow plug and let it drain until it starts to slow drip, then put the plug back in, if excess doesn't run out you were low.

Edit: also thats right from the manual on page TM-281 in case you were wondering the overflow plug has a tube inside the pan that goes up to the full level so the fluid will drain until it gets to the top of the tube and stop at full, and it goes without saying the engine has to be on during the whole process. of actually checking the level.

We used a cap with a pointed tip off a different bottle ( I think it was the stillen supercharger fluid) and squirted it in when we changed mine.

Just have my car, line pressure increase 10%,by my UpRev tuner, drives better...more positive shifts noticed...
