Default Oil change problem

I have 1850 miles on my CY Touring Sport/6MT. I had planned to do my first oil change today with Nissan Ester and K&N but am having trouble with the front air deflectors and chin spoiler hitting the ramp. (I read AK's great DIY piece) I am using the Petersen Tru-Cut ramps witht the extension kit (Ultra-Ramps Plus at Petersen Tru-Cut AutomotiveŽ). The highest point of the inside and outside lip of the ramps appears to be 9 inches high. First the air deflectors hit the lips of ramps. I removed them and tried again and the chin spoiler hit the ramps. I placed a 2x4 under the rear base of the ramp to lower the approach angle of the chin spoiler but it still hit.

Are there any ramps anyone is using that works smoothly without hitting spoiler or having to remove deflectors? I have seen Rhino ramp mentioned. Is it lower than the Petersen or have a longer approach? I don't want to take the Z to dealer for a change.

Anyone using RacerRamps (56" Ramps - Car Ramps | Get your Car Up 8"! | Race Ramps, your best solution for Lightweight Low Profile Car Ramps!)

Thanks

Try placing the 2x4 on the ramp maybe 6" from the bottom of ramp and see if it clears

I have the Blitz ramps and since it doesn't clear was going to try the above quoted approach as well. However, I'm a little concerned that the lack of weight at the front wheel might not be enough and will result in the front tire just pushing the ramp forward without catching. On my mom's Lexus (which does clear without any additional work) since its RWD, it pushes the ramp at first unless I drive on the 3 - 4 inches inches rather quickly.

If you do that maybe try putting the ramps on a surface rougher than the standard garage paved surface. Maybe the driveway or part of the street near your house if its flat.

I use rhino ramps and took off the wheel deflectors to make it work. I simply reverse into my garage and put the rhino ramps at the edge of the garage floor and driveway where there is a inch drop from the garage floor to the driveway and am able to drive it right up with plenty of clearance.

FYI go easy on the lower panel screws putting them back in, i use a makita impact wrench with a 10mm and overtightened all the bolts, I ended up snapping two bolts that hold the air deflectors on hence leaving them off. Hand tightened and quarter turn is enough, its all plastic down there.

Default Look at post in General discussion under

9/7/09 on Race Ramps by Pointman and also on 9/7/09 titled" Ouch, someone dented my fender......by Danny 3.7. The first post by Pointman talks about the race ramps and the second by Danny 3.7 shows a picture of a 370Z on Race Ramps.

I roll my car up on a set of 2x8's and then use a jack/stands. I can't get to the correct lift points without the boards so I don't think i'll wan't to lower this car.
