Who has this part to spare?
Perhaps those who FI'd their cars could help out?
Started the car at work and the CEL went on. Got home, checked under the hood, and saw a pc that attaches to the driver side intake broke off. The part is $140 from the dealership. Comes with the entire OEM MAF tube except the box. I'm thinking not covered under warranty so taking a look if anyone has this pc sitting around in their garage. Put it to good use by helping me out? Raf! Maybe you can try undoing those two pinch clamps that hold the rubber tubes in place (silver and black in the picture). Take off those broken pieces and glue the two pieces back together as a temporary solution.

Go to a parts store, and get a curved PCV hose that goes directly from your intake tube to the PCV valve.
You dont need that part. Its a "silencer" that really doesnt do much. |
^^ provides fresh air to crankcase. That's all I know about it. You could purchase z1 pieces instead.

Rafael,
You can take the filter off along with the broken piece and Krazy glue them like Member OMGWTFBBQ Has suggested. Mine has also broken, and so I just Krazy glued it. :ugh2: Member Jordo Did come up with another good solution in another thread thats less expensive and will work. Quote:

Thanks for the ideas and forwarding links and such. I'll give it a shot tomorrow morning. I thought about it but figured to rely on the forum's wealth of experience and resources first. This forum is the best!

I also noticed that the 2013's have a slightly redesigned piece. I went to the dealership this afternoon to check on the part if they had it. Even with the photo, they had to look under the hood a Z in their lot to see what I was talking about.
edit: correction -- I just noticed. It is the same thing but installed the other way around. |
Get the hoses from Z1. Dress the engine up a bit. ;)

I ended up buying the silicone replacements from Z1. Tried two different types of epoxy and it still broke during install. It's just a little tight and not a lot of room for movement. I think it's just too much stress on the oem piece that it should be a silicone or rubber hose. I know OEM would just break again if I ordered a new one PLUS it is such a waste of money. $111.00 from courtesy parts for a whole air duct assembly. Thanks again to all.

The z1 hoses fit the takeda intakes, the passenger side it a tight fit tho, the drivers is perfect.

Any issues if I only use the driver's side hose and leave the stock one on the passenger side?
