38351-350DK Rear Differential Cover Gasket

I will be installing the Nismo finned differential cover here in a few days and am wondering if there is a gasket on the stock one between the diff and the cover. I have read a few places saying that you have to replace the gasket and others saying there isn't one and to just use some gasket maker material.

I couldn't find anything from Nissan saying there is a gasket, but just wondering if anyone here knows for sure if there is or not.

I would use permatex "the right stuff" it is literally the best sealant ever! Ive used it on engine oil leaks, coolant, diff covers, trans etc etc. Works perfectly every time

I have used that stuff before too. Seemed ok to me. As long as there is no specific gasket for it, I'll probably just use that again since I still have some laying around. Thanks!

I'd use permatex diff silicone. While I don't know what makes one different than another, I'd use the one they specifically make for a diff incase gear oil eats and weakens other kinds.

Id go to the dealer and pick up a tube of the nissan **** it's not that expensive and it is used for everything on the frickin engine too so it's nice to have around.

I'll stop at my local dealer for it... Any idea of what the part number is for the stuff I'd need for the diff?

You can find the full text on NicoClub!
Notice that on the GI page they spec out Permatex Ultra Grey 82194.

Yes I picked up a tube recently myself too I have had more than one use for it very convenient to have in the garage. Nissan dealership parts department had a good price on it as well.
