At start up the alternator has a whine. Is this a feature?

Sorry about that! I'll see if I can pull up some info on your transaction and email you with more info. In the future, these issues need to be addressed by email. I can not and will not be able to respond to such inquiries here on the forums in the future.

Thank you.

Welcome to the NST pulley club! There really should not be any extra whine or noise with the NST pulleys. Using the correct belt and making sure the belt is not slipping should eliminate any potential belt related noises.

Thanks again, best of luck with all your projects!

I noticed that on mine as well. I have about 200 miles on the NST setup and no whine anymore. I think it is from the new belt.

I first thought when you stated" Welcome to the NST pully club! " that your were saying welcome it's a "feature" (the whine noise)..haha joke is on me. Thanks for the tip I will check for belt (yours) for slipage.

Thanks Rangerz, good to know. I will monitor as miles are racked up.

I have not been able to drive the car because it's in the body shop and they took it across the street for my mechanic to install the pullies. Pickup of car is this Thursday. It's Z Day !

Mike @ NST, Just talked to my tech about slipping of the belt and maybe it needs adjusted. He made me aware that the 370Z has an auto tensioner and there is no adjustment. So I am guessing like Rangerz stated that over time the whine/noise is will disapear.
