Its the CSC what happens is it brakes and physically leaks fluid into the transmission, its a common problem with every MT 370z

Plus this is a sealed system, it should never leak fluid unless the CSC is broken or you have a leak somewhere.
Its exactly the same a hydraulic brakes, should never leak unless something is broken.

Yeah, they're being real standoffish about even calling my dad back. With my work schedule, I've let him deal with it and even he snapped (often very composed). The only thing I appreciated was my dealers mechanic saying "I could change the fluid like they're going to recommend to the GTR stuff, but you know as well as I do you'll be right back in here."

This happened to me a few months ago. Clutch started acting funny until I had to pry it of the floor with the toe of my shoe. Luckily I was two exits away from my dealer. They checked and found that the fluid, (all of it), was gone...bone dry. They filled it free of charge, out of warranty, and sent me on my way. Clutch hasn't had a problem since, but after reading this thread now I'm wondering if there's a CSC leak into my tranny.

My CSC gave out at 40k, and my z is out of warranty. Some people had luck getting the dealer to repair this outside of warranty and some didn't. I towed it to my local dealer hoping it would fall under the powertrain warranty. Dealer said they would have to take apart the tranny to find/confirm the problem despite me telling them it's the CSC. I'm also responsible for the labor cost and it's highly unlikely that it'll be covered under the powertrain warranty. Needless to say, I towed the Z to a local shop and installed an Exedy clutch for the same price the stealer would've charged.

Also, the fluid leaked all over the clutch so I replaced the entire clutch instead of just the CSC.

Yeah. I got it fixed and just went the "screw this thing, I'm ordering a new car and never buying a Nissan ever again" route. I have a 4MATIC CLA on its way to me come March.

This is not a personal attack against you OP, I work at a multi franchise dealer in service, do you realize how petty these issues are in the big picture, I actually work for Honda I am an Advisor, and say what you will, I know what I am doing. I have a LIST of common issues with Hondas that I see, no car is perfect, just as our Nissans are not, if you are trading out of this car it is for other reasons, not a bad CSC or master or whatever it was, there are proven aftermarket alternative parts that work, i.e. zspeed hd csc . I work with a former Nissan service manager, and their warranty system is not as forgiving like Honda, if your run the part number and it bounces, it's NOT COVERED, a car is no different than any other product with a warranty, appliances, lawn equipment, you name it, a limited warranty is a agreed upon time or mileage when you purchase the car, if you do not like the terms of the warranty, buy another car, which you have... maybe if you cause enough fuss, you will get help...Honda is a push over, we give out goodwill like it is candy, Nissan is not... The general consumer is unable to see the big picture or understand terms ansd conditions, and to this day growing up in this business(3rd generation in service, but I want out) I cannot for the life of me understand why consumers feel the car company is obligated to fix a vehicle out of warranty, blows my mind...How do you think all the goodwill and BS(some are legit I know) warranty claims are paid for(hopefully rhetorical)?
I would take an accord or base tl over that cheap pos they are calling a Benz(no offense on your decision, just my opinion)...our benz dealer is 50 yards to the right of my building and I have seen these cars...Sounds like the sports car life is not for you, this is the stuff we take on with owning a car like this. I guess I see it different because of my experiences, but glad to hear your car is fixed.

This is not personally directed at you OP, just a little venting obsevation.

And you think an entry-level Benz is going to be more reliable than your Nissan?

Maybe, maybe not....I think he's going to find out on his own that no car is perfect. At least he's got a bumper to bumper warranty now, lol.

Yeah, not only less reliable but more cost cutting services. Its a volume model with less overhead for extras, like good service.

Oh and enjoy the CLA issue with the check engine light.
Check engine light on after 48 hours
Google search is so much fun.

I do not think we need to bash his decision, but its still a newer model car, there WILL be issues other than the normal Mercedes crap that goes wrong, also if there is no maint. pkg, people will overcharge left and right on a benz if you cannot diy. I would also like EVERYONE on this forum to call any salesman that say bumper to bumper warranty a liar, because there is no such thing, there are items that are considered maint, wear and tear, and physical damage, fit and finish, etc, even extended warranties, bumper to bumper is a LIE. Never ever believe this, please.

Joepro 01-07-2014 11:10 AM

just for fun, common honda issues, I wont go too indepth but here are a few:

Civics incl si(8th gen) 3rd gear syncros, oil consumpsion, vtc actuators, wiper motors, motor mounts, wheel bearings
accords: vtc actuators, vcm missfires(v6) rear brakes, oil consumpsion, key fobs, rear deck rattle
pilots: radiators, radiators, did I mention radiators? key fobs.
fits: ton of recalls, also coil issues on the older models

there is also so much more
Now we are getting into new stuff with direct injection on these earth dreams motors and cvt trans, tpms problems with these sensorless systems, the lists go on...trust me every model, ever brand has issues.

about the least plauged car with issues for honda, no recalls, no oil burning, it just runs and drives, my 1995 civic lx, 290k, most reliable car on the face of the planet.

Yeah, you absolutely do not want the first model year of any car, much less one with a lot of gadgets.

Well my 09 c300 is pretty much the same inside and stuff for a while. I still have some issues with **** and you'd think that car would be proven.
