Hi,

I think it would be safe to say that it is a little bit of over kill to be over your car because of the clutch issue.

Our zeds have alot of positive attributes that are very hard to ignore.
Get the clutch issue fixed - lots of good aftermarket choices here on the forums to choose. If pricing is an issur to get fixed - that's sometimes the 'long and short ' of it when owning a Zed.

I to use my vehicle for work in sales - and had your very problem. It is expensive to fix, but I bit the bullet and fixed the issue - and have had no problems since.

Cheers.

I hear you Pepi but in the past 7K I've had the steering lock issue, some unexplainable light in the dash where Nissan was trying to charge me an arm and a leg to look for, and now I have a dead clutch. I came from two Hondas, one that I put 15K into in parts and **** and never had an issue. I've seen the car on a flatbed one too many times. I'm pretty tired of paying that fee too.

I don't know about you

It sounds like you need a new dealership, not a new car. Didn't you get reimbursed for the steering lock? And your clutch is fine. It's the slave that went out.

Yeah Chuck, but it took me flipping out to get that far and that's nothing something owning a car should make anyone do. I had to raise hell to get that back. Dealing with the dealerships is a pain because I'm 24 with a baby face and they just assume I'm some young ******* who they can walk over. Little do they know I educate myself before starting any war with them. Thank God for forums and people like you guys.

Agreed, it should not be that much of a fight. Is there another dealer near you? Can someone in your local subforum recommend a more reasonable dealer, even if you have to go a little farther?

Surprisingly there isn't a lot of Nissan around here. It's odd. We have 2 of about every other company BUT Nissan. After finding and reading the thread DE discussed, if it's the CSC, I'm getting this covered. I'll have them read the warranty booklet where the CSC isn't under the "not covered" section for the powertrain warranty. I'm hoping they can figure it out today (long shot) so I can work the phones the rest of the weekend.

Please tell me this doesn't mean you're trying to drive your Z in winter conditions on summer rubber.

I've been doing it. Can't hold traction for crap under acceleration. And round the block with snow took 10 minutes. Couldn't get over 2mph haha.

Minor update: Still no diagnostic, I'll get that Monday hopefully and can start this consumer affairs process again. It sucks, the woman I dealt with for my steering wheel lock got switched to another region. That doesn't help me. However, the two service managers are looking for every reason to help me here (the positive). The one is the son of one of my mom's close friends from way back.

I asked to check under the power train for the slave cylinder. If it was under there before, it no longer is. The mechanic who worked on my car before was a non bullshitter and being straight up, so I appreciated that. But, everything involving the clutch was only under the 3-year warranty. The only thing that was under the power train was the bearing. The mechanic was confused saying "they're all basically under the same thing, but why is this one under the PT and the rest is the 3-year?"

Jeff (the service manager, who also worked with me on my steering wheel lock) said he thinks the Z's are different than the Altimas and Sentras because the bearing and cylinder are one piece on those cars (making it easily covered), however the Z is two. That's his guesstimate though, I'm sure someone reading this would know that answer.

They were going to try to throw it under the transmission, but they said all of that stuff goes back to Nissan so if they pull that and Nissan doesn't see anything wrong, the dealership is murdering themselves.

I don't know where to quite go now. It seems like it's just consumer affairs or pay. However, I have no option outside of letting the car sit there until Nissan gets me my money because I don't have the money to pay it. So, this should be interesting come Monday/Tuesday.

What's everyone else think?

Issue: Master brake cylinder

Fix: None from Nissan. Those pieces of **** basically spit in my face with a mere 10% discount. Looking forward to hearing back from their "highest" consumer affairs rep tomorrow to fight it even more. Car is fixed and mobile again.

Wtf does a brake master cylinder have to do with a clutch?
