The vvel systemdoes generate more heat, but in reality it isnt a whole lot more. Most of the heat that goes into the oil comes from the pistons, cylinder walls, and rotating assembly. There is very little that comes from the heads in comparison. Most of "the vhr runs hotter" comes from the missing factory cooler not the engine itself.

first of all this thread is stupid. I owned at 03 350z, a de, and compared to the 370z that car was a like a daewoo in terms of fit finish and quality of materials....In terms of speed/times, without the same driver at the same track you will never get a true comparison. With that said, it is preference, but the 370 is a better car, it released with a declining economy and a msrp too high...it crippled the 370z...with that said, I have run the 1/4 mile in both my cars, and I admit I am a terible driver, but our track sucks too, everyone consitantly runs slower there, my buddy has an 11 second srt-4, by 11 I mean consisant 11.04-11.1 only runs 11.4-11.7 at our track...Before I sold my full bolt on 03 tuned by RT I ran a best time ofd 13.6... I took my 370z there this year and best time with bolt ons and no tune was 13.7, it was deplorable and my drving was horrid, I know that...so these results my 350z is faster than my 370(which is now tuned to 322whp, the de had 252whp) My DE would not touch a new 5.0 mustang, lets just say the 370 was raced at the "track" against a new 5.0 several times and my Z was victourious each run. Spatting off track times are usless is my point, get whichever car you like.

You beat the new 5.0? The owner probably didn't know how to drive -

They consistently run around 12.6 don't they?

Should not even be in this thread!

I beat EVERY STOCK, only tuned Mustang at the track. The best one's in stock form did 12'6's. Which is way better than any tune stock Z. My car was tuned & mildly moded.

ITS FOR COMPARISON PURPOSES OF FACTUAL DATA NOT ALL THIS HYPOTHEICAL BANTER.

Again, we did it multiple times to be sure, not saying I blew his doors off but it was stock. A friend of a friend has a 12 stang with intake exhuast and a flash, his best run was 12.6 at our track, consitent at 12.8. Before my headers and tune just to give your a mental picture that car would be Id say a little over a car length in front of me on a legitimate race -closed course simulated street racing from a 40 mph to 120 mph, at which point we were side by side until I hit 4th gear, the 370 falls flat...but it is much better in that area now that it is tuned. Next year when we go to the races I expect to be pretty even, I think from a legit 1/4 dead stop he will prevail, I expect to be around 13 flat if I learn to 1/4 mile drag.

My whole point is get the car you LIKE, if you LIKE the 350 get it, put money into it if you want it faster, end of story, but in direct comparision 370z>350z OVERALL.

For the tenth time,
The 370 has more H.P. & potentials than a 350hr does. Also 350 de cars should not be in the mix. I think I'm done here...

I guess not every HR because my roadster didnt.
Im just comparing my previous HR with the VHR setup I had. My point is the hr ran cooler than my vhr.

[QUOTE=1slow370;2545801]The HR has a truck engine that has gone full circle and is now passengr car engine!! Just like the vhr will!! Nissan recycles R+D truth

But yeah the DE sucked[/QUOTE

I disagree. I thought the DE was so fun. It was sooooo punchy at low RPM, Im fairly certain my mostly stock DE was quicker than my 370 to 30mph. After that...forget about it.

Yeah guess it really depends, you arent really doing anything under 30mph so in my opinion the de sucked. You arent even out of first gear under 30

I had a 2004 red 350z. The car was an all around fun little car. I liked it.
As far as the track, I wasn't & didn't even know moding. I didn't even know that there were forums.

The ONLY thing I did was put on Nitto nt555 street/drag tires(245/ ? /17's on my STOCK 17" wheels. I had a hard time getting traction even after heating them up, but managed a steady 13.7's like all the time. When I asked other DE Z owners with bolt ons, what times they did, most answered low 14's. I assumed my driving was better, now I think that sometimes the wrong or mismatched bolt ons can hurt the car's H/P/performance, and my driving WAS BETTER

To the relief of many here, I will NOT mention my HR

Sorry to bring this thread from the grave, I posted this 6 days before I purchased my 350 HR. I'm not trying to dog on the 370's, but I have to say I haven't lost legitly to one thus far. Is my HR faster? Or are they terrible drivers? IDK, there's a billion factors.

So far I've ran 13.514 @ 106.22 with a 2.1 60'

The reason I prefer the HR 350 to the 370 is because, if, the 370 is faster, it isn't by a great deal, and that's not what the public would expect.

Example : Put a fender or half a car on an LS1 camaro, vs tie race between 350 hr and ls1 camaro. World goes crazy when 350 ties lol.

It's not just straight line speed, although the 370 does have more of it regardless of what you've seen. It's lighter. Shorter. Wider track. Stiffer chassis. Better brakes. And yes, it is faster. A 13.5 gets smoked by bone stock autos here all day. I'm glad you're happy with your purchase, but when the only person who agrees with you in your thread was Andre1234567, you're on the wrong side of a discussion.

That and it all comes down to the driver. The 370 is better in every single way. There is just no arguing against those facts.

I have both the 370z sport touring and 350z HR and I ran 13.2 the first time I went to Atco and with berks hfc and stillen catback only pulled 13.4 in my 350 but it's not all about drag times the 370z is stiffer on the track that was the biggest difference on the track the car is a beast it's tight unlike the 350 it's everywhere way to much body role plus the 370 looks beautiful while the 350 is ehh needs alot of work to look nice. I can get into modifications and what's changed to help the car get that little extra power but it's unnecessary having both cars u can feel the difference just getting in the cars.
