Being an '08 350Z owner, I can attest that the VQ35HR beats all.

Wait, wrong forum :ugh2:.

but I need to answer this fellow.

For over 3&1/2 years & maybe 7 times I broke my 1/4 mile time that is listed on my350z.com. The bolt on 07/08 hr section. I've done it with Niss. STOCK intakes & except for test pipes, STOCK Nissan exhaust, muffler & all.

This spring I replaced my 3:90 gears with 4:08's that I purchased from the 370 car & site. It was a complete diff. set up. Seems like they are the same for both cars. A Nissan dealer just took mine out & installed the 370's in.
After my gear change, I went twice to the drag strip this spring hoping to break my last record time of 12.508@110mph. Well in those 2 times at the track, I got in about 13 runs. 10 of them were 12.4's, with my best of 12.419.

So it isn't what I think, feel or dream off. I've drag raced at the two top tracks up here(north east), Atco & Raceway Park, plus 2 other drag strips. 4 tracks in 3&1/2 years. The ONLY N/A 370's I saw do 12's were the two in Florida. There is no one from North East that has a 370 posting here that I'm mistaken. There might be a couple of cars that do & did that, but I don't know them & haven't seen them.

I no longer have my 350z(long story & not important for my points) so looking at the great times of the automatic 370's & me becoming 65 years old in Dec. plus living 3 hours away from the track & NEEDING slicks to drive a 6spd. car, I decided that I no longer want to drive 3 hours each way & change all four tires twice just to enjoy a day of racing. So I figure that since we don't yet know what 2015 brings, & I don't like to buy the first year of a new car, why not buy a 2012 370 automatic & add similar 2 mods that my 350z had. That should put me in the 12.8 range with stock intakes & exhaust minus cats. With M/T street tires I can just drive to track, no tire change, just coffee & go racing. I've done well in bracket racing & with an automatic that will be much easier to do. Makes sense??? When a good Z comes out in the future & I'm still alive, maybe I'll buy one & go for that record :)

Sounds like you should just stay with your beloved HR- http://www.the370z.com/track-autocro...ed-zs-12s.html

I stand by what I experienced when testing that 370z. I think 4:08 gears would be a must if I got a 6sp. My last post^^^^explains why I'm looking at the 370, AUTOMATIC :)

I also stand by my second post you posted....

You're fine :)

Just more older ricers.

I'm saying there isn't a huge difference in straight line, but when the going gets twisty I owned the **** out of all my 350z buddies. The 370 looks like it has 100 more hp than the hr at corner exit. you come out so fast that the 350's just fall away. it's not unheard of for a 370 with some suspension tweaks and a great driver to be running gtr times at a road track.

Haha, not this again. They're both Z's and we should be happy Z owners together. Now let's all sit in a circle and compliment the size of each other's penises.

Auto Z's do best with a 3.69 from the 6mt. Best of both worlds. The autos are faster btw.

I suppose more time may be needed to see it all infront of us. I was and am a memeber of my350z and I feel like there are a lot of 350z owners that really push their cars and drag race them. I dont feel the same about this forum. Not to say that there isnt, but on my 350z, there were a few guys who pushed and encouraged many to get gears, use nitrous, try different tire setups, push a single turbo to 10's etc etc.

I dont see much the same here. perhaps when 370z's come into the $10k-$15k and parts become cheaper, we will see more.

A fair point. Also, there were probably more 350s sold in the first year of production than 370s have sold in their entire production run.

Not sure how we all feel about wikipedia and all but....

Year U.S. Sales
2002 13,253
2003 36,728
2004 30,690
2005 27,278
2006 24,635
2007 18,957
2008 10,337

Compared to
Calendar Year U.S. Sales
2009 13,118
2010 10,215
2011 7,328
2012 7,338

By these numbers, the sales of all 370zs combined through 2012 is only slightly higher then 2003 350z sales.

Ok, the second year of 350 production ;)

Andre my 370z would WAX any 350 at the track haha. If you still spin drag radials at the track with a stock car then must be terrible at racing. I'm more than confident that if I lined up against you, then your going to have a baddddddd time. I had a 350z and they don't compare to a 370. My friend has an HR 350 and he still can't come close to touching my car. they are two totally different animals
