Just checked your stock top car list

You have a bunch of stock cars @ 13 seconds or close to it. All but one are automatic. If my financial situation don't go bust:) I'll be getting a 2012 370z automatic :) next month(Nov.)

Sorry I had to..

I can't believe the hatred/homerism with HR 350z owners. The 370z is night and day to a 350z. Someone can like a 350z more and thats all fine and well, but denying a 370z its potential stock and once modified is ridiculous. Such an annoying topic to still have.

andre12031948 10-28-2013 04:27 PM

and who is doing that???

If you are implying that it's me, then you haven't read my posts.

So why am I shopping for a 2012 370z????

I'm not comfertable saying I'm the best Z drag racer (MT) in the country

So I'll say that if there are 3 of the best 6spd. 1/4 mile drivers, I would be one of the 3....:p

I say this not because I'm upset, just that it might be a good answer to some of the posters.

Man, you really are in love with yourself aren't you? Lol. Ok we got it, you are a good 1/4mile driver. I think I've read a hundred posts from you bragging about your times.. But that doesn't mean the 370z doesn't outperform the 350hr stock for stock. Maybe all these 370z owners you encounter at the track just aren't very good drivers. We've had several members here in the 12's, N/A. I know one guy who is an active member that is down in the low 12's, granted he has 4.08 fd but still. Moral of the story, the 370z is faster than the 350z. Wasn't that the original question, and is the performance difference worth it to go with the 370? Case closed, and have a wonderful day.

andre12031948 10-28-2013 05:17 PM

I agree

Have you guys not read my post here^^^^^^ saying that the 370 has more H.P & potentials than the 350???? Also that I'm shopping for a 370 next month.

You say your shopping for one.. but then go on to say how you have yet to see any 370s break into the 12s... If you are so concerned about drag times go buy a pony car

andre12031948 10-28-2013 05:22 PM

didn't I also point out

that on your list, stock 370's automatics are doing 13 second & a bunch close to that time. That's amazing & one reason why I might get an automatic.

I wish I could understand what you said.

andre12031948 10-28-2013 05:33 PM

n/a class only

I said I've seen 2 Z's in Florida get into the 12's. In the north east, I never saw in person one 370z break into the 12's. That includes the 2012 Atco NISSAN only meet. What do you want from me??? Talk to the 370Z guys up north :)

That was tranceformer & your record holder Jason. I was there when they posted their best times. So for the 2nd. time, that's when I realized the 370 z had more H.P. & more potentials. O.K???

In my 3 years of drag racing in the north east, I've never ran into a 370 that broke 13 seconds. Not even at an only Nissan meet. I've seen a couple of quick 370's in Florida.

What is your car's avg. drag time? The 350's you beat, were they DE's or HR's?

Mopping up 350's :) If they were DE's, it's like beating an Altima.

Your times????

That's why I'm considering an automatic 370.

Still, beside those two, I so far have not seen a SINGLE 370 in my neck of the woods break 13 seconds. We have a ton of 370's in the N. East!!! You pick the reason why.

"I clipped a mid 13 second run, bone stock". That's excellent, but you still couldn't touch 12.9 to low 13's HR 350's w bolt ons. that I ran across on the track

You have more to work with than they did, so let's see some mid 12's from you, then brag how you "mopped up" all the 350z's.

FIRST time I took my 08 350z to the track was in Florida/same track. I did put on m/t street radials that were better than stock but still could not hold my car from spinning them. 2 months after getting the car, bone stock but for the tires, I did ALL my runs between 13.2 & 13.5. with my best being 13.195.

So, take it easy :) Got to go now!

In the spring of this year, a guy from Florida (redline 06) took a 08 350 with 129k miles on it & turned a number of 12's & a low of 12.823 & that time is posted in the 07/08 bolt on section of the my350z.com top 25 list. Not bad for a worn out engine :)

Since I don't know what kind of new Z is coming our way, I may get a used low mileage 2012 370 automatic. As much as I love manual trans & find it easy to produce great times with it, I'm getting to old & tired driving 3 hours each way then changing all four tires/wheels twice. That adds up to 16 tire changing:)
I may just put M/T street radials on an automatic 370z, just drive to car to the track & do NOTHING except have coffee before drag racing.

It won't be as quick as my 350z, but if I add 2 more mods, I'll be able to do 12.7's 12.8's without a problem. It will be a better car for bracket racing than my faster 6spd. manual.

If you are so convinced that your 350 is faster, why would you switch? Are you that into bracket racing? Also.. just because you havent seen it with your own eyes, doesnt mean that these cars wont run high 12's with the right driver and good conditions.

I'm just curious, because I've heard you claim several times that you are going to upgrade to the 370, but what made you change your mind?- http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-g...time-ever.html

Sounds like you should just stay with your beloved HR- http://www.the370z.com/track-autocro...ed-zs-12s.html
