I know whats wrong with it probably. I had the same issue and 3 times of the dealer replacing the cam sprockets later they found what it was. There are several screen filters in the engine that are probably pluged with debris so the cam timing isn't responding as it should and the ecu is throwing a position error because of it. You most likely have a lunched bearing.

FINALLY got the car back about a hour ago. its running great.

apparently some time in the cars life, the belt shredded, wrapped around the crank/crank pulley, and worked itself through the front main seal, and into the oil pan. whoever fixed it, never pulled the oil pan, just the front cover. so there was alot of belt shreds in the oil pickup tube. So i have a new oil tube now.

after fixing the oil feeding issue, timing was still off, they replaced the cam phaser/sprocket, problem solved...

Sounds a bit bullshít to me, but I'll let it slide since the car is running

if it happens again you're in for a full teardown to replace whats broken and change the screen filters and clean out the oil gallery.

OP, next time you change the oil send it out to Blackstone Labs and see what kind of shape that motor is in internally.

That doesn't make sense to me physically. I've heard of belt shreds working through the main seal, but they would be very small and wouldn't be stopped until they hit the oil filter right? The oil pickup tube is relatively large. Anyways, I really hope they aren't d*cking you around.

there is a screen in the pickup tube, better yet if oil flow to the engine was restricted so much that the cam timing was thrown off how much was going to the bearings, sorry dude but I think you might want to flip that car if you have no warranty, that or be prepared to buy a new motor for it.
