tornado air intake

does anyone remember the commercials for the tornado? Did they ever make one for the Z or something comparable?

An obstruction in the intake path.

Some "inventor" flogs this "invention" through K-Tel and people buy them. If they actually worked as advertised, every internal combustion engine on the planet would be fitted with one. So, think before you buy.

Yep. The only thing you're doing is restricting airflow. I'd love to get a list of people who have bought these. I'd slap together some BS snake oil part and make millions.

Geez, guys. I suppose y'all don't think magnets on the fuel line work either. Or HHO. Or gas tank additives. Oh ye of little faith.

/sarcasm

Just think how much the inventor laughed their way to the bank.

Yeah. Not all gas tank additives are hokum (or worse). I was thinking more in the line of this and that, just to pick two that were easy to find.

I still have my doubts as to the value of injector cleaner. If they're all that dirty, maybe you have a problem elsewhere or they are old enough to justify replacing. But at least it's not outright bunk - it can be useful in the right situation.

If you're interested in the tornados then I suggest you check out this site for other items too.

sold some engineer 2 of these years ago. He took several trips around the loop we have here in the city and surprisingly found that he got less MPG and less performance than he had before. The cool thing was he actually brought back charts and graphs to prove his findings. I tried to talk him out of it buying them but he insisted. Amazing what smart people will spend money on.
