transmission grinding?

i just had my ATF cooler installed and Automatic transmission oil change. I now have that grinding/gargling noise which was not present before. what to do? what to do?

did notice last night that the grinding sound may be related to the shift knob, nothing to do with the ATF change or cooler install.

My friend told me it might be related to the bearing which connects the shift knob to the transmission. how do i fix this? many thanks
