0w40 Mobil 1
I hate to be the one to start another oil thread but I've read several and they all seem to lead to Oil disputes (Blah!) I've read also that 0w40 gives very good feedback on the uao and its what they use to refill Gtr as of what I've read here and from the bottle itself. My question is perfomance difference since I've used 10w30 and my oil temps on 80 degree weather (mornings) goes just up to about 180and during afternoon its about 200-210 if I spirit drive highest tops it goes 220 due to my 34R cooler. Also how many qts of 0w40 do I put since I got the 34R? When I installed it(previous oil change prior to this one) I put the OEM amount which was 5qts and 1/4.

Saw the title and thought it was spam. :icon17:
Was about to click the report button, then felt like an @ss. Sorry, brother. |
Hahaha Good one, now Fez up got some info for me since you almost reporting me? Jk man ***** and giggles haha but any info would be great since I'm no expert in oil and such

What's wrong with just using the weight called for by Nissan? Get a good full synthetic in the appropriate weight and you'll be fine.
You will most likely only be changing 5 qts or so with every oil change since the oil cooler and lines stay full when you drain the oil pan. |
I just switched this past Sat to the M1 0w 40. I have all of 70 miles or so on it but noticed the motor sounds smoother "less valve chatter" I had M1 5w 30 for 3000 miles before switching.
I have 7000 miles on the car and change it out at 3000. |
The "smoothing out" may also have something to do with the fact that your motor is still breaking itself in to some degree. 7k miles is still new.

Yeah, going from a 30wt to a 40wt will quiet things down some since it's thicker.

On the other hand.... you may crater that valve-train. |
