Default Acceleration Problem

Hey guys I picked my car up at a dealer yesterday after they replaced my clutch slave cylinder and on my 120 mile trip home the car would stutter every now and then when I would accelerate. It felt similar to if you would have a vacuum leak somewhere.

My question is could the dealer have messed something up during install? I'm not very knowledgeable about installing the CSC but I know they have to pull the tranny. Any insight would help. Are there any vacuum hoses involved?

Is it a like a chatter/stutter when the clutch is disengaged as you come out of 1st gear?

I too worry about a distance purchase/repair. For that reason I'm looking to stay local for new perchase of a 370Z. Good luck to you.

thats why i thought it was maybe a vaccum line messing with the air/ fuel ratio?! The dealer thinks its b/c of my aftermarket intakes... i never had the problem before getting the CSC replaced.

Could be the ECU going through relearn after having power removed. If it doesn't straighten out after a few hours of driving, I'd do a visual check for broken exhaust O2 sensors/connectors (apparently they are quite fragile) and hoses/ducts (including the intakes) that may have gotten knocked loose.

Get an OBD scanner and check for any DTCs. Use the scanner to check O2 sensor outputs. Bank 1 sensor 1 and bank 2 sensor 1 should read close to each other. B1 s2/b2 s2 should read close to each other.

I'll check this all out. I just took the car for a short drive to see if it would happen again, and nothing happened. Granted I didn't get much above 65mph. It seemed to happen at higher speeds.

Leaning out maybe? Like SouthArk370Z noted, let the ECU relearn. Take it back to a dealer if it continues.

Well I don't think it's a relearn issue. Drop about 30 miles on the highway before the check engine light started to blink... Yikes!! Pulled over. Luckily I was cruising with a friend that had a OBD reader. It's reading error code P0300. Any ideas? Quick search on the web and it sounds like to could be alot of things.

Question

P0300 means multiple cylinder misfires. The OEM FSM lists the following possible causes: improper spark plug, insufficient compression, incorrect fuel pressure, fuel injector circuit open or shorted, fuel injector failure, intake air leak, ignition signal circuit is open or shorted, lack of fuel, signal plate, A/F sensors damage/short, incorrect PCV hose connection.

My top guesses would be he damaged the crank position sensor (signal plate) OR fuct up one or both of the A/F ratio sensors. Least likey would be insufficient compression, improper spark plugs, fuel injectors, fuel pressure, PCV hoses.

It means random cylinder misfire NOT multiple.

Sorry, but on page EC-266, EC-560 and EC-570 of the OCT 08 370Z FSM it states MULTIPLE. So is Nissan wrong or do you know more?
What year FSM are you using? Do you have suggestions to help the op out or you just trying to attak my posts?

I did if you know anything instead only what you can read the P0300 code is for RANDOM misfire there are 6 other codes that cover each cylinder individually so since he only pulled the P0300 it is RANDOM if the ECU could identify the cylinder it would have thrown 1 of the other 6 codes.

If you worked on cars more you would have known that.
