So since my GF was here over the weekend, I was able to driver my baby for a while. I did notice the noise goes away when I step on the clutch. So it is normal then? it does sound less "sporty" :(

It's normal. Get used to it.

clutch noise doesn't make a car sound "less sporty" it makes it sound "less DD", aluminum bushes, spherical rod ends, stiff shocks, removing noise insulation, poly engine mounts, all these add up to REALLY loud car that sounds broken but goes like hell.
