Mine does this sometimes too. Makes you feel like you've made a mistake pulling away.

Yea, when going in reverse I have to feather light and keep the RPMs low. But then there are situations were I'm on a slope, so I need to release it more while maintaining revs. That's when the car really judders, and I can hear this nasty whining noise from the clutch rubbing against the flywheel.

when its cold your idle is higher giving you less judder... but when you are warmed up the higher idle no longer helps you take off....

answer, give it more gas.

No it's not a driving technique issue, its more of a clutch shaft lubrication problem. Mine did it constantly for months before I got rid of it, cold, warm, rain, shine, morning, night... all the time.

Is this really necessary?

You actually made it all the way through that horrific run on sentence, complete with horrendous spelling and grammar? You're a more patient man than I am.

I got about halfway through it and then got sidetracked searching my car for the "exhaust pies". I'm still looking. I hope they're cherry. I like cherry.

Please explain this because I'm not quite following it.

6spd 08-15-2013 10:27 AM

The shaft the clutch rides on is greased. If the grease dries up or it wasn't put on heavy enough, it'll cause clutch shudder.
