also what josh meant is that the press cars were blowing up rear ends so they start putting another cooler on the back for the differential if you get under the back of the car and there is a little pump and oil cooler attached to your rear pumpkin you need to buy a lotto ticket because THAT is an expensive cooler only some press cars got.

34 row, thermo plate, bottom 1/4th blocked off during winter, wanna share my personal experience:
During coldest days of last winter, like around 30 to 40 degrees, I would start the car about 30 min before I leave office (just a large window between me and the car, so it's ok). This yielded a 180 degree oil temp by the time I started driving. About 3-4 min onto the freeway at about 65 mph, i would watch oil temp fall back to and stay at 160 (which commonly believe to be about 180 while circulating within the engine). Still a bit on the cool side. On cold start, even with the block off plate, it took noticeably longer for oil to climb pass 140 during winter (if getting on the freeway right away) and I would keep rpm not much more than 2k to avoid oil pressure spikes. I may just slap some tapes over it next winter, quick and easy to remove, instead of doing another block off plate. Last edited by cv129; 07-31-2013 at 12:32 AM. |

Well then, your friend with the 40th needs an oil cooler. You should only break 200-220 when driving hard, if he's at 245-260 constantly, his car is pulling timing
