Why is intake manifold pressure and exhaust temperature important?
The clock on the triple gauge cluster annoys me. Don't get me wrong I love my car. I'm just a bit OCD so the fact that it is visually different than the other two bugs me. :icon14:
So I was looking around to see if it could be replaced and came across Defi. Most of the available gauges made sense but when would you want to know the intake manifold pressure and exhaust temperature? Is that a racing thing? Turbo(200kPa) Intake manifold pressure Oil pressure Fuel pressure Oil temperature Water temperature Exhaust temperature Also, if anyone has suggestions for other vendors feel free to let me know. Those two gauges are important for boosted applications with EGT being important for turbo applications. Intake manifold pressure is your boost gauge. With forced induction, you build up positive pressure. The gauge is important to monitor how much boost you're making, and whether the peak level is intended.

FYI, if you replace the clock you've got to replace all three gauges. It's one piece.

Oil temp and pressure are always good to know.
The rest is more useful in tuning applications, especially forced induction. |
If I was NA, I'd swap the three gauges to oil temp, oil pressure and water temp. For FI it's hard to narrow it down to three.

There are multi-gauges. I wish I knew about them before purchasing the regular analog gauges. It's a combo analog gauge with a small OLED panel. Depending on the model, you can get one to display voltage, oil temp, water temp, oil pressure, etc. That should save some room.
