No Nitrous Section ?
 

Bummer, i was really looking forward to a bottle fed VQ37VHR. I imagine these babies on a dynotune's 125shot. I had a 125shot on my HR 350z and everytime i would flick the activation switch it would be game over for almost everything.

To be honest, I wouldn't consider a 20 shot without a tune safe.

Ok, maybe it is, but I feel that you should do it right the first time. I say don't even try it and wait for a tune.

With the 350Z a 75 shot with one step colder plugs was ok to run without a tune Im not sure on the 370Z

If you are going to have a kit installed definitely take it to a shop with a dyno, have them do a run and check your air fuels and timing when on the spray, the extra expense it totally worth every penny. Plus you get to know what you put down.

I wouldn't mind a nitrous section. I imagine some of these hooligans are going to run out of bolt-ons pretty quick and will turn to the bottle. It would be nice to have a section dedicated to said shenanniganery. Perhaps this should be moved to the 'Site Suggestions' section...

Yeah, its usually good to run N20 a little fat, that way if the bottle pressure is really high you don't run the risk of being lean.

holy ****, the dyno graph on NOS is nuts...

I've never seen a dyno on the giggle juice but holy **** it jumps literally 100 RWHP!

what would a setup like this run us 370z folks?

I know NOS has come a long way but its still scares me. I guess if I ever wanted to do it I would just have to really read what the safest methods where and really know how it worked before I did it to a $35K daily driver car.

Not to mention where in the hell you gonna put the nos tanks.....

I should be setting up a lil gogo juice setup pretty soon.. waiting for some fittings and lines to arrive by friday this week..

A single fogger setup will cost around $1500 installed. The price varies on the accessories you add.

That setup was a crazy full-out system, the cost was about $5K in parts alone.
The controller is a touch screen that acts as a progressive controller, wideband, TPS and RPM switch, and can be rigged up for the purge and a few other things.

We have a direct contract with ZEX now and can get direct port kits for a less now (no middleman!!).

Her are some typical layouts:
1. Single fogger dry shot (I won't sell this, ever)
2. Single fogger wet shot (good for less than 150whp)
3. Direct Port (whats on the ISF) (what I usually recommend for over 150whp)
4. Sandwich plate (more for domestic V8's)
5. Stealth system (where everything including the bottles are hidden)

Options:
Purge Kit
Bottle Warmers
Gauges
RPM Switch
Progressive Controller (highly recommended for automatic cars)
Multiple Bottles
Digital Touch Screen (also acts as guages)
Wideband O2 safety system
Blow Down Kit
Carbon Fiber bottles

BTW, we are distributors for all major nitrous systems, so if you want a particular brand or just like a certain color we can get the kit that will work the best for you likes.

They typically all about cost the same.

I don't get Nitrous. Is it for street light racing? I can't imagine it being useful for anything else. If you need more HP FI is going to be the gift that keeps on giving.... at least you can use it all the time at the race track.

I haven't had Nitrous before so maybe I'm missing something here....

its economic on demand power. Its essentially a chemical FI rather then a mechanical one. Some argue its better then Mechanical types of FI because it only puts strain on the engine when you use it rather then all the time with a FI system.

I tend to think that a Supercharger or a Turbo is the way to go in most cases though, NOS works really well for drag cars though.

But at $5k its starting to get close to a Super Charger or Turbo kit and that's not including buying the juice refills....

Yeah well that is probably for a crazy NOS setup. Look at the options he lists up there. Digital Touch Screens, Carbon Fiber Tanks.......


Also, I just checked out Jet Black Motor sports website. It looked really nice until I saw the 'Hydrogen Injection' area.....Sorry buts that's the biggest scam/waste of money ever. You should remove that from your services and your shop for credibility alone...

My neighbors dad did a "do it yourself" hydrogen injection system on his dodge durango and he claimed to have gotten like 32 miles to the gallon city driving...

He showed me his setup and I gotta say I was curious and looked it over pretty thouroughly...sure it was roughly put together, but it seemed plausable...

so with a single fogger wetshot, do you think its possible to hit 400 flywheel hp?

The system actually works, but we are no longer working with either Spanos Imports or Miami Hydrotech. I had the system installed in one of my personal cars and gained about 8 mpg, but even for me it didn't seem worth it. Plus most people see it as snake oil (because there have been a lot of scammers out there) and I am removing it from our site. I totally forgot about it seeing as we haven't sold even one of those systems. Thanks for the heads up. I want to keep the rep of the shop high.

Heck yeah! You can jet a single fogger from as little as 30hp all the way up to a 300hp shot if you want.

So you'd be looking at roughly a 75 shot, that is perfect for a single fogger kit.

What's the smallest size jets/shot for direct injection?

I don't like going with less than a 125hp shot on a six cylinder with direct port, though technically you can run as little a a 50 shot the jet sizes become extremely small and its not good for flow.

Im selling a New in Box Zex kit with all of the goodies for only 1200 and that will give you 55-100 wet shot jettings... This kit has never been used/sprayed

Zex is good stuff, I've thought about getting one eventually... We'll see how long it takes them to put a kit together (meaning renaming the 350 kit 370Z lol)

Yeah, the kit for the 350Z will work exactly the same on the 370Z.

Has anyone ever done a Dyno run while spraying? I'm curious to see the HP curve that effects from this... I would imagine it being a smooth climb, then a sharp upward turn lol.

With a window switch the way the N2O is injected it is a nice climb in power its not neck shattering.... Because you can set the specific gear you want to start spraying in and the specific rpms.... but with a 100shot and a mildly modified Z you should see an extra 80-90whp and gobs of tourqe

There is a guy on my ChicagoZ forum who has intake Exhaust mods and he dynoed 340whp and 400tq on an 05 350Z with his 100shot and that was without a tune and none of the goodies my kit comes with!!!!!

They have nitrogen assisted nitrous systems that keep constant pressure and flow without a heater, this is a huge leap for nitrous consistanty.I had a Zex system on my 03 lightning,got down to 12.0 at LACR, not bad for a 5000 lb truck at a pos dragstrip. Id like to try a 100 shot on my Z.
