Deep finned diff cover??

I'm looking for a thread I saw in the last few months on a finned diff cover for the Z. I searched this section of the forum, and can't seem to find the one I was thinking about. It's not the one listed below, or the one on the GTM diff cooler from 2009-2011.

I thought I remembered reading one that indicated that Nismo's had the finned housing from the factory, but I know my 2012 doesn't. Any pics, ideas or info? Not interested in installing a diff cooler or OS Giken rear at this time, just fishing for info.

Thanks, Pete

Thanks Triple! That's it, the Nismo JDM cover. Crap, didn't remember that it was for 350's.

I believe that part fits both the 350 and 370 diff.

I was asked not to say who. But a known company is going to be creating a billet piece diff cover with a little more capacity.

billet might offer enough extra cooling to get the extra dollar? more hot oil doesnt solve much

The extra capacity will help a little. But this perticlular company had there diff cover blowout. And being the OEM cover is some form of cast aluminum, a billet covor with a little bit of extra capacity will help aid with cooling issues.

OP - Are you thinking of the Z1 Motorsports Rear Diff?

SPOHN - I'm guessing someone else is going to make a different Read Diff Plate other than Z1?

SPOHN 06-04-2013 05:01 AM

Yes it's someone else. But after talking to them again it might be a little bit. I guess it was just mentioned to get me going. Lol. But it will happen.

The 370z and the 350z diff is exactly the same. To the point where you can use the same stub shaft assembly to rebuild it. (I'm using a 350 short shaft with 0 issues so far.)

Z1 doesn't make the diff cover. Its a Nissan product.

Yup, that looks the same. Must have missed it, as I've been on their site, and have recently bought from them. Thanks!!
