Syncro Saver Anyone?

Came across this while doing some research on our transmissions. Anyone do anything like this to their Z? It seems like this could be useful for our platform as well.

hmmm, interesting.

The shifter already has one. In the service manual, there is instructions adjusting the shifter guide plate whenever the transmission is removed.

I think that is for keeping it from going in reverse without pushing down the shifter.

It's for preventing over-shifting with shifters/trans that do not have built-in stops. If modme is correct and the Z has built-in stops, there is no need for the SynchroSaver.

I am pretty confident that that plate is just for setting up the shifter so that you cannot go into reverse by accident. Here are some pictures from Mr. Galeforces short shifter install thread.

You can see how much room you have to shift the shifter here, there is no way that I think that is working as a Syncrosaver.

I misunderstood. I thought he was talking about the SynchroSaver.
