Service engine light and traction light on, and syncrorev wont work

So today I was leaving a parking lot and traction control and service engine light came on. Syncorev also turned off and won't turn on.
Also a few seconds after starting the car began to shake when idleing and then went away.

After starting now, the service engine light is staying on

Dealershit FTL...
Any codes?

Sounds like it went into limp mode for a brief. This happened on my G37 once and never happened again. But if the lights are gone and everything is working I wouldn't worry.

When I turn it on now, just the service engine is on

Check engine light codes. Get a code reader, or borrow one from an auto parts store to diagnose it

Most of the major auto parts stores will have OBDII code readers that you can borrow, and/or clerks that are savvy enough to hook it up and read whatever DTC's (diagnostic trouble codes) are saved on the cars engine control module (ECM). You can buy a decent one at Sears, and the instructions are a breeze to use them. It really helps out with the maintenance and diagnostic work on any modern car.

+1. You can find a no-frills model for less than $50; $100 will get a good one. That and a copy of the Factory Service Manual will allow you and the car to troubleshoot most problems.

if the traction turns off and your syncro doesn't work, your brakes are extremely low.
I had the same exact problem without the check engine light. Go to Nissan and tell them to check your brakes.
Should be free unless you need to get them changed.

$300 to get the rear brakes changed.

I had the camshaft position sensor error code,
I ended up taking it to the dealership because I've got someone coming out friday to buy the Z.

Zenmaster 05-10-2013 07:32 PM

Turns out the engine timing jumped and is off by almost an entire tooth on the cam...
The z was in failsafe so I won't have it back until tuesday
