Limp Mode

Good Afternoon guys,

I own a 2009 370z. Anyways, i was driving my car to my friends house (2 miles away). I downshifted and the car juttered. I pulled over on the side of the road, turned off the car and turned on the car. I realized that it took another 2-3 seconds the turn on and it was sputtering. I was driving and also realized that the car wouldn't go past 3.5k rpm and the needle would bounce back like i was redlining. Turned the car around and started heading home until I heard a huge beep. I stopped the car once again turned it on and VOILA. Everything was back to normal. Anyone have experience with this? Should i take it to Nissan? I think oil temps were fine since i let the car cold start for about 3 minutes until the rpm's dropped. Driving the speed limit and was taking the car easy. I have less than 35k on the motor.
