Default GarageLine Prototype Pulley Review

So I got chosen to test and give a review on the new GarageLine prototype pulley kit. The kit consists of a crank and alternator pulley, stock size, just light weight and made out of 6061 aluminum. They are anodized black for corrosion protection. I am not sure on how much they weigh exactly, I will let Jermaine from GarageLine chime in and give full details on the product, price, etc. The crank pulley does seem pretty light though! I will be installing these tomorrow and will give driving impressions as soon as I get the car back. I am familiar with light weight pulleys and I'm expecting nice solid gains from these, along with the car being able to rev up quicker. My car is a 6MT also. Here are some teaser pictures from when I first got them. I will continue my review tomorrow on how well the car drives.










The pulleys were packaged very nicely. The black anodizing looks great, and the pulleys had no damages, scratches, marks, anything.

If the crank pulley is stock size, what is the need for an alternator pulley?

I believe that the alternator pulley is also light weight. It's not going to shave a lot of weight because its so small, but anything helps

The pulleys will be finished up tomorrow! Unfortunately my stock crank bolt will not come off without removing the radiator and fan assembly. Stupid bolts
We are working on pulling that stuff off so that I can get the car back around noon tomorrow. I really wanted the car back today to test my new found power but it looks like tomorrow will be the day. Stay tuned!

Are these strong enough to work with superchargers? Had to remove my NST's and I loved them.

It is underdriven and underdrives the SC. Adding a supercharger helps absorb resonant frequencies. I'm just wondering if it was designed strong enough to support the additional torque from the SC's. Watching a couple sub par pulleys fail (spokes failed), I would def side with the conservative route. This is def a hot topic with divided sides.

I personally wouldn't install a different pulley on a SC car. A lighter crank pulley when you have an additional item 1 or 2 being driven by the crank pulley doesn't really make sense. If underdriven it will make supercharger spin slower making less power and if same as stock diameter you probably won't notice it at all.

Exactly what I was saying. The risk isn't worth the gain.
And while lets say T-6061 aluminum ("aircraft grade aluminum" usually used in these sort of parts) is strong, it ain't that strong. Machined aluminum won't be half as strong as if it was forged.
