Problem help
I have a 09 370z 7AMT and the problem i have only occurs when im in sports mode going from 2 to 1 by it's self. When it drops to 1 by its self when i creep to a stop sign theres a odd click doesnt sound smooth. i dont have the problem in auto but everytime it doesnt go down to 1st smooth unless i do a hard break. Has anyone had this problem?

Thats pretty normal.
The transmission is not very smooth coming to a stop from 2nd to first in manual/sport mode |
Don't creep to a stop in your z. You have the sports pkg with the big brakes. While it doesn't hurt them, they operate much better under moderate to heavy braking. Now, to the question: I'm guessing if you're in sports mode, the car is gauging your speed as if it were having the brakes applied by a person wanting to be in sports mode, not creeping to stops. Check to see if the downshift changes out of sports mode, and waits until you're almost at a dead stop.

7AT Sorry lol

It can't be the tranny because when you drive it shifts up smooth it's just when coming to those odd stops
|
Is this a big problem, can it really be the tranny

I assume, not having a AT Z, that it's just trying to do what many MT drivers do and force the car into 1st before coming to a complete stop. Do you know what mph it generally does this at? Edit: I wouldn't worry too much about the shift to your PTO gear at low speeds. It's no worse than upshifting and getting on it. You're just putting the force of the vehicle changing lateral direction onto your transmission. |
