Problem help
I have a 09 370z 7AMT and the problem i have only occurs when im in sports mode going from 2 to 1 by it's self. When it drops to 1 by its self when i creep to a stop sign theres a odd click doesnt sound smooth. i dont have the problem in auto but everytime it doesnt go down to 1st smooth unless i do a hard break. Has anyone had this problem?

Don't creep to a stop in your z. You have the sports pkg with the big brakes. While it doesn't hurt them, they operate much better under moderate to heavy braking. Now, to the question: I'm guessing if you're in sports mode, the car is gauging your speed as if it were having the brakes applied by a person wanting to be in sports mode, not creeping to stops. Check to see if the downshift changes out of sports mode, and waits until you're almost at a dead stop.

I noticed this on my sport package 7AT as well. It doesn't matter if I'm in sports mode or D, if I creep to a stop it shifts hard (jerks the car forward) from 2nd to 1st. But if I brake a little harder, it doesn't do it unless I brake extremely hard then it does it sometimes. I believe that its the computer fuggin' up and not downshifting properly unless its my tranny that's messed up I bought the Z with the intention of keeping it for as long as possible but I have a feeling that my transmission isn't gonna last very long

I assume, not having a AT Z, that it's just trying to do what many MT drivers do and force the car into 1st before coming to a complete stop. Do you know what mph it generally does this at? Edit: I wouldn't worry too much about the shift to your PTO gear at low speeds. It's no worse than upshifting and getting on it. You're just putting the force of the vehicle changing lateral direction onto your transmission.
