Transmission and Motor Mounts?
I just had a question for those that have upgraded their mounts to polyurethane mounts like offered from Z1. Did you notice a difference in power transfer and was there added noise after the install? I was thinking of getting these, but wanted to hear thoughts first. Thanks.

I'm ordering both of those this weekend. Along with another long list of mods. I'll have to see who carries all that I need. Unfortunatly one shop does but the communication level is nonexistent.

I have all new Z1 polyurethane mounts installed even the transmission mount to and yes there was a noticeable difference in vibration but when I step on the gas the flexing of the motor is almost non existent now. I love the mounts. Just my thought on it. I recommend them to anyone.

I am sorry I can't answer that I have the 7at. I love these mounts and swear by them and every car should have these mounts. Trust me you will see a difference in everyday driving. The noise and vibration is not so bad to the point it's irritating its actually just right and when you take corner and launch that's when you see the performance of the mounts come out. I love theses mounts in my car

I keep thinking about these. The problem is, I put hardened engine and tranny mounts in my last car. I loved them for the first year or so. Sixty thousand miles later I was kicking my own ***.

Yeah, after driving it to work for several more years, I could have done without the hardened mounts. Mainly when the ac was on.

Drop Engineering also has some very nice looking mounts. I believe they only use a 70A durometer bushing which isnt TOO terribly stiff, but will make a world of difference in the power transfer through the drivetrain.
Just another option for people to keep in mind. Thanks, Alex Goodwin AlexG@motionlabtuning.com |

I had the Drop transmission mount and it was WAY too stiff for anything other than a race car.
I now have the Z1 Urethane trans mount, and it's fantastic. Yes, it does transfer more vibration and noise into the cabin; not so much that it's obnoxious (it passes "the wife test" for me anyway), and as it breaks in it normalizes a little bit. I daily drive my car, and I'm pretty happy with it. The increase in system throttle response is definitely noticeable. I regularly track my G37S Coupe, and the benefits really shine at the track. I highly recommend it. |
