ok that's worse. Should only be putting 5 and 1/8 quart in with a filter change. Might be why you're pushing oil out.

The PL14610 filter is slightly bigger than stock. Also, the leak is from before my change today. This is my first change I have done

I didn't thank you for the heads up on how much oil should be used. I had put a liter too much in and drained some out.

I see a bit of residue on one side, and the other is still dry. So far I'm not too worried. The 350Z had it on both sides, and it was virtually stock.

Yeah I am thinking its normal. You are always going to get some sort of weepage from fluids. Just keeping an eye out for drips and trails.

Need Advice Vavle Conver Gaskets

Hey guys, I have a slight oil leak in both valve covers (noticed small oil stains in the garage). I watched a youtube video of a kid changing them....he stripped all the parts off required to replace them....then had the wrong gasket and could not find another locally....he indicated that some of the cover bolts were loose. He used the old gasket and put the thing back together....he failed to report if he was successful in stooping the leak (trying to contact him to ask).

I have not looked at the location of the bolts, but suspect they are buried under a bunch of stuff. My question are:
1, Are the bolts accessible without tearing the engine apart?
2. Would it be smart to take it apart to the point of being able to just tighten the bolts and put back together and check for leaks, or does it take the same amount of work to replace them? Any help would be great, thanks.
