Synchro rematch question

I've read on a couple of posts that some people have complained about the synchro rev matching feature on our Z's wearing out after a while. Can anyone speculate this for me? Thanks

Never seen this, have any links to threads on this.
Are you referring to syncros in the transmission?

The synco rev match is all computer controlled. It is just changing the RPM of the engine.

Only thing I can think of reading on here was that someone thought resting your hand on the shifter could wear them out somehow but that sounded bogus.

The synchro rev feature is constantly on and is a key feature that makes the Z what it is. It can take the abuse. Believe it or not this car is meant to run hard.

the system actually helps keep wear down on the syncros and clutch components.

were the people complaining those that bought a base model and DONT have it????

Never heard of this problem. I've got 52,000+ miles and don't have any issues. 'cept when I disconnect the battery and forget to turn SRM back on. Tends to be a little bit of a surprise on the first downshift. :icon14:

If anything its gonna prolong the life of the components like clutch . and when synchrorev does it its perfect everytime .

edub370 04-08-2013 12:52 PM

thats never happened

36K....Synchro still works with no problems.

New Z myth lol. SRM is a piece of software and an ECU, it doesn't wear out.
