Shouldn't be too much longer The cage will probably be the 1st thing to actually go in the car. After that we will be adding some nice aftermarket parts

The entire car is now empty of the big and small stuff.

Now begins the process of using dry ice to break away all of the heavy sound deadening material. We will probably pull another 40-50lbs of sounds deadening out of the car alone.

I like that you are going all out on this build, should be very nice. I'll be following intently.

Ryan was able to locate a place that has dry ice pellets. This is DEFINATELY way better than the big blocks. I would do a local search in your area for an ice distributor...I am sure they will have it.

Just let the dry ice sit on the material for 10 mins or so, and start chipping away with a little hammer and scraper.

What's left of the adhesive, can then we removed with a generous application of 3M adhesive remover.

Oh, and all the glass is coming out today

I think that can be arranged. Might be interesting!

Actually, glass is coming out on Wed, and then will be sent off for lexan.

This would be awesome to see. Too bad you can't mess with people on a track night and be a sleeper but i'm sure from the sound of the car and the cage in it...it would be a dead giveaway that this is a full on race car.

More details on glass please... front windshield will be stock glass or lexan? if lexan, will you be able to replicate the curves? for side windows, are you going to leave those open and net them or put in lexan? if lexan on sides, will you make it so they pop on / off easily?

It will be cut to the OEM shape, and we'll make a custom frame to attach it. Pretty standard stuff. All the glass is being removed from the car, so no OEM glass will remain. You can run Lexan on the street, but it's not nearly as resistant to scratching and scuffing, so not all that practical, IMHO. For the front door, we'll run just a small piece of lexan at the front of the door, and the rest will remain open. A window net, and head restraint will be installed for the driver. At this point, I THINK we are going to keep the OEM steering column, and pedals/cylinders, but that may change. The small corner glass will be removed, and replaced with air ducts, which will cool the diff.

It will be a lot more fun, with I can post pictures of the work and fabrication we'll be doing, instead of just typing about it. Thanks for being patient, and I am happy to answer any other questions you all have.

Sharif, I'd like to replicate as much as possible of your build. If you're willing to build two sets of any of the parts you fab, I'm standing by to purchase. E.g., lexan pieces, ducting for diff...

Re the pedals, the accelerator pedal assembly made by Bosch seems cheap, I think we'd be better off replacing the whole assembly at some point. Dead pedal needs to be reconstructed too. Brake and clutch seem fine to me + clutch has a sensor at the bottom of pedal stroke to be aware of.

Have you started thinking about aero at all? Also, what are your plans to cool front brakes? Going with the new brembo kit or ap racing kit?

Absolutely. Anything we can replicate or produce is open to the public. I will keep everyone advised as this happens.
