Having a hard time finding any dealers or the info needed as to which is the better battery for cars with boost. Any help is appreciated. Couldn't find if any vendors sell them here neither.

elperuano, do you happen to know how much the oem weights?
How come you're looking for specific batteries for boosted cars? Does it make a difference if boosted? |
Stock weighs I think 38lbs or more not exactly sure. I know Braille is lightweight and puts out the same voltage, and even more than stock or optima batteries. I'm mostly tryin to go with Braille for the weight savings although it ain't much. Anything to take weight from the front of the car I'll try. Nothing extreme though
Correct me if I am wrong, but doesnt the battery just crank the car, once cranked the alternator takes over? As long as the battery is for the right CCA then you should be fine regardless of the turbo.
It does crank the car...upgraded batteries are a common complimentary if not a necessary upgrade when folks run amplifiers, subwoofers, etc.
Stock battery is 35 LBs Braille battery is 15 lbs.
Make sure that you get a battery tender for it as the z will drain it in 3 to 4 days if you park the car and do not use it Ive had mine for 2.5 years and plug the tender on in the cold weather. Under 40 F. i also keep a set of battery cables in your car. when i store the car its pluged in every day. If you leave the ignition on or the acc. for a long time it will drain the it and you will have to boost the car. It saved me 20 lbs of weight. Z |
^ oh wow, it only will last 3-4 days? Thanks for the feedback, I think that's something ppl should take into consideration.
I recently changed out my battery to an Odyssey PC680 (MUCH less expensive than a Braille). It weighs less than 15lbs and has juice to start the car. It does get drained after about a week of sitting, especially in cold weather. I have a battery tender on the way. Just my 2 cents!
10-15lb weight savings..really? You know that there are better ways to enhance performance rigghht
21 pounds for the PC680, 35 pounds for the spare, 8 pounds for the woofer, etc.. it adds up. Every 10 pounds you lose off the car is equivalent to adding 1 horsepower.
I'm boosted. I have no extra sound mods like subs or amps.
I know there's better mods for performance which is why I skipped all NA parts n went straight to boost. The 15 lbs I can shave off from the front of the car I'll gladly take. I added extra weight with turbo so I'm tryna take as much as I can without it being too extreme. Thanks for all ur input guys. |
I have a Braille 6lb battery. Won't last two days if not on a tender
Thanks for that info.
You should go ahead and gut the AC and the carpeting, what is it 100lbs~10hp is your formula
Apparently someone didnt read where it was written I'm not trying to go extreme. Lightweight battery yea. AC n carpet? No thanks.

racing brake 2 piece brake rotors 32 lbs less when you change all 4.
and it takes the weight of your drive train. |
