Do I have the steering lock fuse? I don't want it
 

So I unlocked my car i put my keys next to me I try to turn on the car and it just shows the key on the side next to a picture of a car. I insert the key in the fob (I think that's what it's call) it shows a picture of the key to take it out. I'm thinking maybe the battery in my key is out so I buy a new battery and same thing happens. I can't turn on my car but I can still lock and unlock it.

yup your lock is gone.

Look up the thread where people have managed to get it unlocked by bangin on it. But as soon as its unlocked pull the fuse.

jesus, I can't believe how many of these are failing recently.

So happy I pulled the fuse.
