It might be the steering lock. Do you hear it disengage? Is this happening all the time or every once in a while? With both fobs? I would try removing

It might be the steering lock. Do you hear it disengage? Is this happening all the time or every once in a while? With both fobs?
I would try removing the battery cables for a few minutes and reinstalling it again. There is no reason why it should reset like that. Replace the fob batteries while you're at it to or place it in the fob thingy near the steering wheel.
