Looks like a lot of work. Did they tell you what the cost would have been without warranty?

Ok well I went to a mechanic (not Nissan) and they said labor would be 700-800. Not as bad as some of the posts on here made it out to be lol.

So if Nissan doesn't cover it under warranty then it won't be that bad....but the only issue is finding the part. I still don't know how much the entire subframe is from Nissan. If it's too expensive I'd like to just buy an aftermarket bushing but I still haven't been able to find any other than from SPL.

So...if anybody knows of an aftermarket replacement that will be ok for daily driving please let me know!

I have a question that I forgot to ask the mechanic....

How much of the work for this repair is similar to what needs to be done to swap the gears? In other words, if I want to get gears then is this the best time to do it? I know it's not exactly the same thing but I figured since the rear end needs to be removed it might overlap with some of the labor involved in switching the gears

Good question. Cause if this is the case and my bushing fails the car will be sitting in the garage until I can afford to do gears at the same time.

If you have one of those Gold Service plans, you just need to pay a deductible. It saved me a lot when the power steering rack went bad.

I had the car up on the lift, and all of the bushings look good! That's crazy for the amount of power I push. The clunking noise appears to be the rear axle on the driver side, so I'm going to get it diagnosed soon.

changing the gears is a completly different thing. yes the rear dif comes off during the bushing or subframe removal but they dont crack it open.

if you can get just teh bushing replaced by that mechanic (op) what would the labor be then? removal of the subframe is a lot of work but just the bushing couldnt be too bad.

and i have no idea what the cost would have been on my issue.

Is this issue something with just the early models or is this just as possible on 2011+ models?

Bro this is the cheapest place for factory parts!!! Has all the vendors beat and local dealerships. Give them a shot or get a quote from your dealer and then look up the part here. HANLEES HILLTOP NISSAN

i stopped by the dealership when she was in a million pieces. its alot of work to get the rear sub frame off. i was worried she woulnt drive the same...... the kicker was she came back feeling MUCH tighter and to me all around better. so win win..... maybe my rear sub frame was assembled on a monday after the Japanese world series or something. :P

i have to be honest, when i wash my car i try and not look there anymore since i bet a second time it wont be covered under warranty and theres no resonable fix yet.

Was under the car this last weekend changing the diff oil and looking at this bushing. Is there any chance you lifted the car using the differential housing? Seems like the weight of the entire care would go straight to this bushing if you did.

Thanks for the link. I have 19k miles on the car.

Btw since making the thread I cleaned up the oil and have been driving the car. I have not noticed any more oil and I can't notice any difference when driving....so I have no plans for repairing it unless something happens.
