Default Loss acceleration.... Help...

Sup everyone...
I just put on pioneer aftermarket head unit. When I was on freeway, my car suddenly loss acceleration. No matter how hard I rev the engine, the acceleration is not there. My rpm was at 3000 and the acceleration is at maybe 10 or 15 mph. Any idea?

Sounds like a slipping transmission or clutch problem, but I have a feeling I'm not getting the whole picture.

What do you mean by "suddenly loss acceleration"? Does the car accel at all, flatten out, or actually decel?

I'm not sure what this means. You're at 3000 RPM and doing a steady 10-15 MPH? Or accelling slowly?

Sounds like limp mode. Turn car off and back to see if fixed. If not disconnect battery for 10 minutes to reset everything. Then report back here.

I noticed you mentioned the installation of a HU in the context of your problem of a loss of acceleration...

first post sounds most likely like a clutch. he says no matter how hard he revs it, it will not accelerate. if the RPM is climbing and the car is not accelerating, either the car is not in gear, or the clutch is slipping

I don't believe this was mentioned yet but the simplest problem may be the easiest solution- you using premium gas?

If your car is a manual then it could anything stated above.

Other than that it could be a vacuum hose, i used to drive an eclipse and my accel and rpms were off due to the vac hose.

I'm bumping an older thread since this happened to me twice already. I bought the car brand new in Feb '13 and this happened within a month or two of ownership while the car was bone stock. I have since installed a CBE and everything was fine for a few months until this weekend when it happened again. Basically there's very minimal throttle response. I was accelerating from a light when the car just didn't want to rev past 3K RPMs. I downshifted from 5th to 3rd but still nothing. I floored 3rd and the RPMs rose from 2.5K to 3K. That was it. I commute about 9 miles to work one way, and I experienced it during one of those short trips. No, the car didn't throw any codes, wasn't overheating, and it was particularly cool outside since it was late in the afternoon. I always get the premium fuel from the same gas station so that can't be it either. My car just hit 4K miles and I never ride the clutch so that's out of the question. The condition is "erased" after I turn it off and start it back up--even without waiting a few minutes for the car to cool. I'm sure the ECU is getting some faulty inputs from sensors that's causing this.

Yeah limp mode due to overheat, instal oil cooler to fix problem, or the cheap way DO NOT OVERHEAT the engine.
