Darn, so only the non-sport 7AT models could use back their own pumpkins? How much would a manual pumpkin cost? Any online store I can purchase cheap from? And I need the manual pumpkin from VLSD model right?

No 7at fits the manual gears and carrier correctly. There was a guy that did if i remember correctly he sent his to a shop and they had to sim the hell out of it. There is no difference between the sport and non sport automatic pumpkins other than the lsd stuff

Just so to make sure I'm understanding you correctly. I have a sports model 7AT with factory VLSD. You are saying I can use my own pumpkin? All I need is to buy the 4:08 gears and Quaife for VLSD and maybe lots of shims?

If you have already VLSD in your car, why would you buy another one???

Because I didn't read enough on this subject, I don't know what was posted about having to get a manual trans. pumpkin. ANYONE????

Because the Quaife VLSD will preform 100 times better than the stock that a good reason why..
1slow370
you are wrong if you have the 7at you need to switch to a manual pumpkin otherwise the aftermarket gears will not fit!!

I love how no one can read back through through this thread to count the number of times i have said what you need to do this.

In fact the guy is back on page 3 or 4 ask him he needed 6 shims to do it.

I hear that all the time.^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
Now I'm not looking for an argument, but what's wrong with stock VLSD???

I had a 2004 & a 2008 N/A that I also drag raced with slicks & had no problems. It may be that I was lucky & others are having problems. So please tell me what problems was I supposed to have?????

We're also are talking about an automatic car that won't pop the clutch at 5k+ like I did.

So what problems do people have????

Is it like telling a guy that wants to dive into a pool, "you better put on the oxygen tanks" ??? Sorry. I'll be patient. Maybe I learn something.

i have owned both the vlsd and the quaife and there is a world of difference as soon as you stop going straight. Drag racing the vlsd gets the job done, but when you take your car to the other kind of track you will notice a TON more grip in the back than you have with the vlsd. Easing on the power coming out of a corner ANY LSD is better than the factory to a very noticeable degree. And the beaty of the quaife is when you're not at the track it is just as quiet and smooth as the viscous. the quife also lasts longer and has a lifetime warranty, and also like stock never requires maintenance.

Thanks a lot for your frequent feedback.

I don't track but mostly just want quicker acceleration on occasion drag races. So getting the Quaife would be overkill?
