Default Amsoil?

just wondering what everyone's thoughts and or pro's-con's are on Amsoil. i have a friend that is a dealer so i can get Amsoil pretty cheap. I know in my 2000 ss camaro it made the trans run 10-15 degrees cooler and the shifts and firmness were awesome.

IMO it is great oil, right up there with Redline. I like that Redline is easier to get so I sway toward it. I've had a crank bearing failure with Amsoil on a race CRX and my friend has had a cam galling issue with Redline on his race Prelude so you will hear something negative about any oil you ask about.

They work great except they cost a lot. I use them on my Prius since I can go 10-12K on the oil. On my Z, I change it at 3500 miles so I just use regular synthetic Pennzoil

Should have searched, already a thread on it and plenty of people use it:

If you can get a deal on the Amsoil, use it.
